Quran Chapter 4- 135 (Pt-5, Stg-1) (L-611) - درس قرآن

Evidence without let or hindrance
Suratun-Nisaaa’  (The Women) – Chapter – 4)

BisMillaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

135.  O ye who believe! Be ye staunch in justice, witnesses for Allah, even though it be against yourselves or (your) parents or (your) kindred, whether (the case be of) a rich man or a poor man, for Allah is nearer unto both (them ye are). So follow not passion lest ye lapse (from truth) and if ye lapse or fall away, then lo! Allah is ever Aware of what ye do.
135.  Yaaa-‘ayyu-hallaziina  ‘aa-manuu  kuunuu  qawwaamiina  bil-qisti  shuhadaaa-‘a  Lillaahi  wa  law  ‘alaaa  ‘anfu-sikum  ‘a-wil-waali-dayni  wal-‘aqra-biin.  ‘Iny-yakun  ganiyyan  ‘aw  faqii-ran  fAllaahu  ‘awlaa  bihimaa.  Falaa  tattabi-‘ul-hawaaa  ‘an  ta’-diluu.  Wa  ‘in  tal-wuuu  ‘aw  tu’-rizuu  fa  ‘innAllaaha  kaana  bimaa  ta’-maluuna  Khabiiraa.

    Commentary

Qawwaamiina – (those persons, who stay steadily, prevent the flow of, and stop), it has been derived from Qayaam and is plural of QawwaamQawwaamiina  bil-qisti  (those, who staunch in justice) i.e. those people, who stay steadily in justice and keep it every time in view.

‘Alaaa  ‘anfu-sikum – (against yourselves), its literal meaning is ‘upon you’, that is to say; which is harmful for you.

‘Aqra-biina – (your kindred, near relatives), it is plural of ‘aqrab, which has been made from qariib. Qariib means ‘near, close’ and ‘aqrab means ‘very close i.e. kindred’.

Tu’-rizuu – (fall away), its origin is ‘a’-raaz. It means ‘averseness, hatred, shunning, shrinking from and dislike’. Here it aims, “lest you fall away something at the time of providing evidence’ or do not say about the truth, which was necessary for justice, so that the hearer may not understand correctly’.

A very valuable command has been delivered for the humankind in this verse and a clear likeness has been given about that, {which was described earlier, “wa  ‘iy-yaakum  ‘anitta-qUllaah (We ordain you, that you keep your duty to Allah) and do not fear anyone but Allah Almighty} in what manner your deeds should be? It has been commanded here that ‘you should establish justice mutually and say that, which is true. You should never tell a lie due to any kind of fear or regard of any person at the time of providing evidence or witness. Do not think about profit or loss of anybody including yourselves, when you are going to witness. Say clearly that, what is true. Do not keep in view, “Either I shall suffer a loss, if I speak the truth, or my parents will be involved in difficulty, or any kindred will suffer from some injury, or that you give false evidence to please and regard any rich, or you think that there is no harm by giving false evidence if well is being established for any poor”. Stop your wrong favors and fellow-feelings. Allah Almighty is more well-wisher than you, whether someone is poor or rich. When He orders you to speak the truth and not to show your partiality for anyone, then why do you favor any person? Master of entire human beings is Allah Almighty. You have to do your duty honestly and obey His Commandment.

Allah is Eternally Besought of all

Suratun-Nisaaa’  (The Women) – Chapter – 4)

BisMillaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

133.  If He will, He can remove you, O people, and bring others (in your stead). And Allah is Able to do that.

134.  Whoso desireth the reward of the world, (let him know that) with Allah is reward of the world and the Hereafter. And Allah is ever Hearer, Seer.
133.  ‘Iny-yasha’  yuz-hibkum  ‘ayyu-hannaasu  wa  ya’-ti  bi-‘aakhariin.  Wa  kaanAllaahu  ‘alaa  zaalika  Qadiiraa.

134.  Man  kaana  yu-riidu  sawaa-baddunyaa  wal-‘aakhirah.  Wa  kaanAllaahu  Samii-‘am-  Basiiraa.

    Commentary

Yuz-hibu  (can remove), it has been derived from ‘az-haab origin, which means ‘to remove, to bring away’.

It was told in the previous lesson that Allah Almighty does not have any concern with it, if either anybody obeys Him or otherwise, because He is Independent and Lord of the entire creatures which exist in the heavens and the earth. Nothing is deficient for Him, for which He might be necessitous of others’ help. However, the humankind is needy from beginning to end. And human beings are not able to get every necessary/required thing without support of others. They are weak; therefore, they need to save themselves. They remain frightened from many things as fear of loss of the wealth, property and their own lives. Their knowledge is inexpert, therefore sometimes; they do usually such works, which hurt them. So they have need of such a person, who has more knowledge than them.

Who can be their more helper, supporter and guide than Allah Almighty? Human weakness of intellect and indigence wants that it should make someone it’s such a protector and auxiliary companion, who should have those all perfect powers, strength and qualities, which it does not have in itself. If somebody has only a little wisdom, then he can understand that there is none but Allah Almighty, Who can be Defender, Guard, Helper and Guide.

It has been mentioned in this verse that if Allah Almighty would have been desirous of those people, who obey Him or fear Him, then He Is Empower to remove those persons from the world, who disobey Him and bring into being such people, who would remain standing in tying their hands position before Him and they would never disobey Him.

Remember! If you will disobey to your Lord Almighty, He is Able to annihilate you and Produce His obedient servants at your place in the world. But He does not care that who believes in Him and who disobeys. He has kept ready everything with Him. The person, who wishes riches, He may give him wealth, and who wants Hereafter, He will bestow him ease and comfort of the Doomsday. It is His Will to provide you option, and give fruit of intention and desire of every person. He is Hearer and Seer of everything. Nothing is hidden from Him.

BisMillaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

131.  And unto Allah belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth and We ordained those who received the Scripture before you and (We ordain) you, that ye keep your duty toward Allah. And if ye disbelieve, lo! Unto Allah belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. And Allah is Ever Absolute, Owner of Praise.

132.  And unto Allah belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. And Allah is Sufficient as Defender.
131.  Wa  Lillaahi  maa  fis-samaawaati  wa  maa  fil-‘arz.  Wa  laqad  wassay-nallaziina  ‘uutul-Kitaaba  min- qablikum  wa  ‘iy-yaakum  ‘anitta-qUllaah.  Wa  ‘in-  takfuruu  fa-  ‘inna  LIllaahi  maa  fis-samaa-waati  wa  maa fil-‘arz.  Wa  kaanAllaahu  Gany-yan  Hamiidaa.

132.  Wa  LIllaahi  maa  fis-sama-waati  wa  maa  fil-‘arz.  Wa  kafaa  BIllaahi  Wakiilaa.

    Commentary

Wassay-Naa – (We ordained), it has been derived from taw-siyah, which means “to ordain, to say either about goodness or for giving such thing, in which there is benefit for one, and to advice, to admonish etc.”

Messenger of Allah Almighty, Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) has provided a method of living and working in this world for the humankind, which is called Islam. The questions like “what should the human beings think, what should be done by someone, how should one do” have been described very clearly in the Holy Qur’aan, in which there are all kinds of Rules and Regulations for guidance of entire mankind. How to deal mutual matters, how to behave relatives, neighbors, the people living in surroundings and the common people? These entire matters have been explained till now. There is only one thing in the intent of these entire matters, which has been described repeatedly on various occasions and toward which, there is dire need to draw special attention, that is; Bear the remembrance of Allah Almighty in mind every time, Do good works to please Him and Turn away from evil deeds.

It has been told thrice in this verse, “Unto Allah belongs whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth”. In addition, it has been ordained, “Keep the women in a suitable manner, fear from your Lord Almighty and do not trouble them”. As the people before you were instructed, now you are also being commanded, “The essential matter is to fear from Allah Almighty. It is advantageous for your own. Because Allah Almighty is Free, Lord, Eternal and Sublime. He does not need anything. What does He say, that is good for you”. The world used to tyrannize the women and still behaves with them cruelly. Therefore, it has been urged in the Holy Qur’aan again and again to do justice with them. Then it is commanded that Allah Almighty does correct entire problems of that person, who executes His Orders. And His Support is Sufficient because He is Lord of all things. It is the difference between Muslims and non-Muslims that “What the Muslims do that is order of God Almighty, and what they give up, that is due to His fear. Other people have been entangled in their own imaginations and they have forgotten Allah Almighty. If this difference does not stand firm, then Muslims and non-Muslims are equal i.e. all are Disbelievers.

Equity among the wives is necessary - Quran Chapter 4 129 & 130 Pt 5, Stg 1 L 608 درس قرآن

Quran Chapter 4- 129 & 130 (Pt-5, Stg-1) (L-608) - درس قرآن

Equity among the wives is necessary

Suratun-Nisaaa’  (The Women) – Chapter – 4)

BisMillaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

129.  And Ye will not be able to deal equally between (your) wives, however much ye wish (to do so); but turn not altogether away (from one), leaving her as in suspense. And if ye do good and keep from evil, lo! Allah is Ever-Forgiving, Merciful.

130.  And if they separate, Allah will compensate each out of His abundance. And Allah is ever All-Embracing, All-Knowing.
129.  Wa  lan-  tastatii-‘uuu  ‘an-ta-diluu  baynan-nisaaa-‘i  wa  law  harastum  falaa  tamiiluu  kullal-mayli  fataza-ruuhaa  kal-mu-‘allaqah.  Wa  ‘in  tuslihuu  wa  tattaquu  fa-‘innAllaaha  kaana  Gafuurar-Rahiimaa.

130.  Wa  ‘iny-yata-farraqaa  yug-Nillaahu  kullam-min- sa-‘atih.  Wa  kaanAllaahu  Waasi-‘an  Hakiimaa.

    Commentary

Tastatii-‘uuu – (You will be able to do), it has been derived from ‘ista-taa-‘at, which means ‘to have power, to be able to do’.

Tamiiluu – (you should Lean), it is from ma-ya-la, which means ‘to lean, to connect, to agree, to incline to, to draw attention. The word Miilaan is also from it, which means inclination.

Mu-‘allaqatin – (in suspense), its base is ta’-liiq, which means ‘to keep waiting, to postpone, to hang, to suspend’. According to idiomatic meaning, it aims ‘neither the husband causes the wife to dwell at home after marriage, nor sets her free by divorcing’. Islam has taken this state of circumstances as extremely vile act.

Tattaquu – (keep from evil), its origin is ‘ittaqaa’, which has been derived from taqwaa. Taqwaa is “to keep away from the evil, the sobriety and abstinence”. ‘Ittaqaa’ means “to adopt sobriety, to fear from Allah Almighty”.

Before Islam, the Arabians used to marry as much women as they wished. There was no limit for number of marriages. After that they used to ignore them carelessly. Some of them were regarded, but maximum were not contemplated. Islam did not like this act and approved such device, due to which, this prevalence might be finished in the process of time.

First of all, Islam began to correct the marriages from the point that women were raised from their dropped dignity and disciplined the men that they (women) are not mere mindless and lifeless idols for completion of your desires (lust), that you use them as you wish. They are owners of their wealth and property. They have right in the heritage. You would have to accept them as your equal member, partner, helper and supporter in maximum affairs. Then, it has been commanded that you can marry more than one woman with their consent. But you would have to keep all of them comfortably. And remember! It is not in your control to do justice between them. You will find that you are unable to behave your wives equally, although you wished and tried your best. It will never be lawful for you that you incline more towards one side and the other wife or wives are kept waiting (in suspense). If you feel that you are not able to retain, then divorce them. Allah Almighty is Lord of the entire creations. Nothing is deficient near to Him. He will bestow the persons, who are of good intention, too much Mercifully, that they will become free from necessities of one another.
