Path of Satan - Quran Chapter 6 – 128a (Pt-8, Stg-2) (L-886) -

Quran Chapter 6 – 128a (Pt-8, Stg-2) (L-886) -

Path of Satan

Surah ‘Al-‘An-‘aam (Cattle) – Chapter – 6)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

128a.  And the Day when He will gather them together (He will say): O ye assembly of the jinn! Many of humankind did ye seduce. And their adherents among humankind will say: Our Lord! We enjoyed one another, but now we have arrived at the appointed term which Thou appointed for us.
128a.  Wa  Yawma  Yah-shuru-hum  jamii-‘aa;  yaa-ma’-sharal-jinni  qadis-taksartum-  minal-‘ins.  Wa  qaala  ‘aw-liyaaa-‘uhum-minal-‘insi  Rabbanas-tamta-‘a  ba’-zunaa  bi-ba’-zinw-wa  balagnaa  ‘ajala  nallaziii  ‘ajjalTa  lanaa.

Commentary

‘As-taksartum – (you seduced many people), it is a past tense. Its origin is ‘istaksaar, which has been made from the word kasratunKasratun means excess and majority. ‘Istaksaar will be meant as “getting maximum portion and more things to order”.

‘As-tamta-‘a – (enjoyed –reaped advantage), it is past tense also, which is from the word ‘astamtaaa’ and it has been derived from mataaa’. Mataaa’ means – any useful and beneficial thing, wealth and property, goods and equipment etc. ‘Astamtaaa’ means “to gather wealth and possessions in abundance and to reap advantage from it.

‘Ajala – it means “appointed term and the whole period too”. Here it aims “the death which arrives at its prescribed time”. ‘AjjalTa – (the time You appointed), made from the word taajiilTaajiil has been derived from the word ‘ajal. ‘Ajal means “to appoint the term”.

It was described in the previous verses that maximum people choose the wrong way, which is chosen always by Satan’s power of deceiving, who is inbred and old enemy of the human being. Allah Almighty has loosened him (the Devil), but saying at the spot to him: You will be unable to seduce the servants of Mine. It was commanded in the previous verse that Walii (the Protecting Friend) of Good people is Allah Almighty. Condition of the evildoers has been explained in this verse.

It is commanded that a Day will come when the entire humankind and the jinn (the devils, the demons) will be gathered before Allah Almighty. The devils will be addressed before the mankind: You plundered much in the world and made many people yours obedient and servants. A guilty conscience needs no accuser. The slaves of the devils will speak at their own: Neither were we their slaves and nor used to worship them. By chance; sometimes, we used to obey their commands and sometimes they used to obey us. Like this we used to help one another. Even the death entrapped us and the period You appointed for our living in the world, was finished. The only aim to ask from the devils was that the mankind should answer. We shall know their reply in the next lesson.

The Straight Path - Quran Chapter 6 – 126 & 127 (Pt-8, Stg-2) (L-885) -

Quran Chapter 6 – 126 & 127 (Pt-8, Stg-2) (L-885) -

The Straight Path

Surah ‘Al-‘An-‘aam (Cattle) – Chapter – 6)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

126.  This is the path of Thy Lord, a Straight Path. We have detailed Our Revelations for a people who take heed.

127.  for them is the Abode of Peace with their Lord and He will be their Protecting Friend because of what they used to do.
126.  Wa  haazaa  Siraatu  Rabbika  Musta-qiimaa.  Qad  fassalNal-‘Aayaati  li-qaw-miny-yazzak-karuun.

127.  Lahum  Daarus-Salaami  ‘inda  Rabbihim  wa Huwa  Waliyyu-hum-  bimaa  kaanuu  ya’-maluun.

Commentary

Yazzak-karuuna – (they take heed), actually participle verb of this word is yatazak-karuuna, origin of which is tazakkara and has been made from zikr. Zikr means “to remember, to mention, whether that is spoken by tongue or remembered in the heart. Tazakkara means “thinking, getting advice”.

Daarus-Salaami – these are two separate words – Daar and ‘As-SalaamDaar means – any place of dwelling and ‘As-Salaam means – peace, comfort, ease, facility. So the meanings of Daarus-Salaami are – the Abode of Peace, it is also the name of the Heavens, the Paradise.

Waliyyun – (the Protecting Friend), it is an adjective. One form of this word is Wilaayat too. The meaning of the both words is nearness. Waliyyun means near and close relative, supporter, friend, companion and Lord. In short, a person, who has very close relation with any other, is his Walii. That person is considered best; whose Walii is Allah Almighty.

We knew earlier that some people are of the crooked nature and some are noble. Allah Almighty makes the bosom miserly of the cross-tempered people. The truth does not find place in their heart, whereas, the bosom of the good-natured person is expanded and his spirit is generous. His heart accepts the truth and straight talk quickly.

It has been described in this verse that temperament of which person has been made according to which worldly format, and whose adventure has become like which, either Allah Almighty guides him towards the Straight Path according to that, or pushes him in the pit of error in accordance with his nature and deeds.

It is commanded: That, what has been revealed in the Holy Qur’an and O Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him)! That, which You are causing to learn them; is Your Lord’s appointed Straight Path, which will carry the mankind to his Destination. Those people, who will follow these Instructions, will reach such place, where they will get Deliverance and Peace from all disputes.

For such people, the entire blessings of the Paradise and the Abode of Peace are ready with their Lord Almighty. Being closer to them, He will be their Protecting Friend and Supporter in retaliation of gripping up their loins to forsake the worldly wishes and obeying the Commands of their Creator.

Those who are not guided - Quran Chapter 6 – 125 (Pt-8, Stg-2) (L-884) -

Quran Chapter 6 – 125 (Pt-8, Stg-2) (L-884) -

Those who are not guided

Surah ‘Al-‘An-‘aam (Cattle) – Chapter – 6)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

125.  Thus whomsoever it is Allah’s Will to guide, He expandeth his bosom unto the Surrender, and whomsoever it is His Will to send astray, He maketh his bosom closed and narrow as if he were engaged in sheer ascent in the sky. Thus Allah layeth ignominy upon those who believe not.
125.  Fa-many-YuriDillaahu  ‘any-yahdi-yaHuu  yash-rah-  sadrahuu  lil-‘Islaam.  Wa  many-Yurid  ‘any-yuzil-lahuu  yaj-‘al  sadraHuu  zay-yiqan  harajan  ka-‘annamaa  yassa’-‘adu  fis-samaaa’.  Kazaalika  yaj-‘alUllaahur-rijsa  ‘alal-laziina  laa  yu’-minuun.

Commentary

Zay-yiqan – it is an adjective, which has been derived from the word zayaqa. Zayaqa means “narrow, vexation”.

Harajan – (closed), it is a noun which means - such thick and close bushes and under-wood, in which no one can penetrate. Here it aims – pressed, much close.

Yassa’-‘adu – it is a tense of participle, origin of which is tasa’-‘ud (actually it was yatasa’-‘ad). Singular of this word is sa’-‘uud, which means – to climb over. Tasa’-‘ud means “to climb pushing oneself by force”.

Rijsun – (something unclean, curse, devil, impure, unchaste), here it aims – the curse in the world and ignominy in the Hereafter, that is to say; the curse of the both worlds (during life time and after death).

The temperament and nature of some people in the world desire to move perverse always, whereas, there are some such people, who recognize the straight path very soon. Allah Almighty has set this Rule that the individual, who goes straight forward, is led and guided properly, and who goes astray, about him Allah Almighty says: We caused to stray him and turned from the Straight Path.

It is commanded that the people, who are good inherently, it must be understood that Allah’s intention is to direct them towards the Straight Path, and to whom Allah Almighty desires to guide, opens his bosom. Resultantly, his bosom accepts the truth very soon.

On the contrary, the person, who is inherently refractory and argues without any ostensible reason, Allah Almighty sets his bosom closed, and then his heart begins to be confused from the true sayings. These people feel too much perturbation and perplexity, as though, they have to climb the height of the sky pushing themselves with force. Although, the mountains have some places to foothold, whereas they have to climb straight upper direction without any support under compulsion and with forced labor. After that, Allah Almighty commands: Similarly, We entrap those people in plagues and calamities in the both worlds, who run away from the Belief.

Commentary

It was described previously that those people who are rich and have dignity, do not let them do their work, who say true and straight. They conspire in such a way that those persons who say the truth, neither they may advance and nor their matter may ever be promoted.

The influential people of Makkah used to do this practice and had become so much rebellious that they used to say to the Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him): We are rich and honorable. If there were messengers, those would be we. Neither You are rich, nor famous and nor have dignity, how have You been Messenger? They have been replied in this verse.

It is commanded: Observe their condition. When Our Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) brings unto them any verse or token, they say moving their head proudly: we shall never believe in Your sayings till we are inspired also as the Messengers (peace be upon Them) are inspired. And about that which you say; we should also be given that which Allah’s Messengers are given because we are more deserving of messenger-hood than You; being wealthy and influential.

Allah Almighty commands: Say to them O Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him)! Allah Almighty has more knowledge than you about that person, who is more deserving of Messenger-hood and with whom to place His message. There is no value of being rich and high with Allah Almighty. You, who are drunk with wealth, reject the truth and say flippantly: If Allah desires to guide us; He will send His message directly unto us by means of His Angels. We do not accept the sayings of the people like You (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) (God forbid).

You will be cursed by Allah Almighty due to the retaliation of your flippancy and haughtiness. Humiliation from Allah and heavy punishment will smite you being guilty of your scheming. Your treacheries, schemes, frauds and lacks of gravity will bloom. You will live in the middle of nowhere during this worldly life and taste most severe punishment on the Day of Resurrection.

Allah – how much a strange and intoxicant thing is this wealth of the world and dignity that a mankind becomes quite blind and deaf? As long it does not fall to someone’s lot, neither the eyes are opened and nor the ears. Allah Almighty save all of us from this misfortune and depravity, and teach the rich correct use of the wealth. Amen (so be it).

123.  And thus have We made in every city great ones of its wicked ones, that they should plot therein. And they do but plot against themselves, though they perceive not.
123.  Wa  kazaa-lika  ja-‘alNaa  fii kulli  qar-yatin  ‘akaabira  mujrimiihaa  li-yamkuruu  fiihaa.  Wa  maa yamkuruuna  ‘illaa  bi-‘anfu-sihim  wa  maa  yash-‘uruun.

Commentary

It was discussed in the previous lesson that following both kinds of people cannot be equal of one another:

·         Who were dead, Allah Almighty raised them unto life and set a light for them.

·         And who have been involved in the utter darkness, whence they cannot emerge.

That person, who neither has a spiritual life and nor a Light, in his view, his own work and deeds will be interesting and charming. The Rules, according to which, Allah Almighty has created the world, it is necessary that His disbelievers should like their own condition and they should remain engaged in their personal works. It was described earlier that the thing, which is in accord with the prescribed Rules, about it, Allah Almighty commands: We have done it.

One more thing has been described in this verse. Allah Almighty commanded: It is a habit of the human being that whenever he becomes rich, has sufficient wealth and property, and other people begin to obey him, then he considers himself great and thinks such plans that his wealth should increase day by day and his power of influence should be firm including his dignity as it is, but more than now. For acquiring this object, he makes different plans for deceiving and cheating the people.

Allah Almighty commands in this verse: We have made this world in such a way that the wicked deeds are committed by the rich usually.

It is commanded: As you saw that We have made beautiful everyone’s own work and deed in accord with own point of view, like this, We have made great (chieftains and the rich) ones of its wicked ones. Whenever any individual raised money and other people began to obey and follow him, then he begins to plot in such a manner whereby his majesty is established. To achieve this goal, he comes down to mischief. At that stage, he is as much in rapture that he does not see any other than himself. He does not think about his own wicked deeds, which he committed to increase own dignity and reputation in the world, and which will ruin him in the Hereafter. Painful Doom will be waiting for him on the Doomsday against those evil deeds, which will be the reason of his severe distress.

It is evident from the History of Islam that the infidels of Arab, who were lustful for their dignity and wealth, used to make new plans to finish the Muslims and Islam, were at last executed. Islam succeeded and the Muslims got prosperity and victory. It revealed from this verse that those are the inventors of wickedness, mischief and disturbance, who do not think about the consequence of their own as well as their nation due to haughtiness of their wealth and influence. The helpless people and the poor accept soon the correct matter. And the history shows that if the rich people do not uplift them, they do not evil.

Light and darkness are not equal - Quran Chapter 6 – 122 (Pt-8, Stg-2) (L-881) -

Quran Chapter 6 – 122 (Pt-8, Stg-2) (L-881) -

Light and darkness are not equal

Surah ‘Al-‘An-‘aam (Cattle) – Chapter – 6)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

122.  Is he who was dead and We have raised him unto life, and set for him a light wherein he walketh among men, as him whose similitude is in utter darkness whence he cannot emerge? Thus is their conduct made fair-seeming for the disbelievers.
122.  ‘Awa-  man-  kaana  maytan  fa-‘ahyay-Naahu  wa  ja-‘alNaa  lahuu  Nuurany-yamshii  bihii  fin-naasi  kamam-masaluhuu  fiz-zulumaati  laysa  bi-khaarijim-minhaa.  Kazaalika  zuyyina  lil-kaafiriina  maa  kaanuu  ya’-maluun.

Commentary

In the previous verses, the commands regarding the dead animal and that over which the name of Allah mentioned at the time of slaughtering was described that the dead animal is abomination, forbidden, unlawful and unfit for food, whereas those animals, meat of which is permitted to be eaten and whereon the name of Allah has been mentioned during their slaughtering; are lawful and fit for food.

It was commanded too that those people who do not obey Allah Almighty, His last Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) and the last Scripture i.e. Holy Qur’an, they are not able to be heard. The same reality has been caused here to understand by means of an example.

It has been described by Allah Almighty that a man was dead (gloomy) due to ignorance and error. Then We bestowed him the soul of Belief and brought him to life. After that, We presented a Light for him, by which, he understands well looking everything, walks among the people with the same and can observe goodness and badness of their matters.

Whether a person may be the equivalent of him, who has been encircled in various kinds of darkness and there is no form of his coming out from them? Neither his heart is living which may be by the perfect belief, and nor he has any Light with which he may see the things around and distinguish in good and bad.

In such darkness, he takes everything, only those things which either he possesses or someone has caused him to be caught. Except them, neither he can see anything and nor understand, because the darkness is in his eyes and his heart is imperfect. The veils of ignorance have been, clouds of bias have overcast him and the people like him have been corroborating him continuously.

It is the reason that he has been overwhelming in his own wrong deeds. These are the dimness and darkness which have surrounded him. Nothing is valuable before his eyes except his own deeds, matters and thinking. It is clear that either only he is, who likes his own business or those people can accept who are like him.

Those people who have eyes to see and the Light with them, cannot accept their evil deeds because they can observe their goodness and badness with these both things. It can be understood from this discussion easily that how those people take these things as good who have fallen in the darkness?

Whereas, neither they have a living soul and nor the Light, then, how can they see the badness of these matters and deeds? According to the prescribed and established order, it is commanded: We have made for them their conduct as fair-seeming. They do not have the instruments, with which they may see and examine the good things.

Meat of cattle; forbidden from eating - Quran Chapter 6 – 121 (Pt-8, Stg-2) (L-880) -

Quran Chapter 6 – 121 (Pt-8, Stg-2) (L-880) -

Meat of cattle; forbidden from eating

Surah ‘Al-‘An-‘aam (Cattle) – Chapter – 6)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

121.  And eat not of that whereon Allah’s name hath not been mentioned, for lo! it is abomination. And lo! the devils do inspire their minions to dispute with you. And if ye obey them, ye will be in truth as idolaters.
121.  Wa  laa  ta’-kuluu  mimmaa  lam  yuz-karis-mUllaahi  ‘alayhi  wa  ‘innahuu  la-fisq.  Wa  ‘innash-sha-yaatiina  la-yuu-huuna  ‘ilaaa  ‘awli-yaaa-‘ihim  li-yujaaa-diluukum.  Wa  ‘in  ‘ata’-tumuuhum  ‘innakum  la-mush-rikuun.

Commentary

Fisq – (disobedience, to do against the religious law, abomination, extremely hatred, loathsome), the person who commits such deeds, is called Faasiq – the word Faajir has also the same meaning, which has been derived from fajuur. Fajuur means “to cross the limit violently, to dissipate”.  Here fisq means “eating such thing is against the Divine Way of Religion”.

Li-yujaaa-diluukum – (so that, they dispute with you), the origin of this word ismujaadilah and jidaal, which means “to dispute”. Actually this word is yujaaa-diluuna, however, the alphabet letter “n” has been removed due to the letter “i” which has come before “n”.

‘Awli-yaaa-‘a – is plural of Walii. Walii means – friend, close relative and companion.

It has been described in the previous verses that only that thing is lawful for food, which has been permitted in the Holy Qur’an for eating. You should not care about the people, whether they falsify the commands of Holy Qur’an as much as they wish. Think neither about their false assertion and nor act upon their sayings lest (God forbid) doubt is born in your heart from the Holy Qur’an. You should eat fearless and unhesitatingly, the meat of that lawful animal over which the name of Allah has been mentioned at the time of its slaughter, but eat never the meat of that animal, which has died it-self without slaughtering and mentioning the name of Allah Almighty. This verse explains about the same matter too.

It is commanded that the slaughtered animal over which the name of any other than Allah Almighty has been mentioned at the time of its slaughtering, eating its meat is forbidden and abomination. Otherwise, if you will eat it, you will be certainly a sinner, because it will be against the Law of the Religion.

The devils used to instruct to their disciples and followers that they should continue absurd reasoning with the Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him). Their main aim is that somehow You may not abide by the Divine Law of the Religion. What will be the difference among you and the idolaters, if you obeyed them?

The idolaters do the same also, that is to say; neither they believe in Allah Almighty as it is necessary to be believed and nor they care about His Commands. They find faults in it at their own as it has been described earlier.

It is known from this verse that accepting the arbitration of any other person against the decision of Allah Almighty is also as having belief in a plurality of God Almighty. However, if that is not against the commands of Holy Qur’an, then there is no objection. According to this verse, that person, who has any kind of faith against the commands of Holy Qur’an, is included among the idolaters.
