Quran Chapter 4- 174 & 175 (Pt-6, Stg-1) (L-636) - درس قرآن

A Clear Proof from Allah

Suratun-Nisaaa’  (The Women) – Chapter – 4)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast.)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)

174.  O mankind! Surely hath a proof from your Lord come unto you, and We have sent down unto you a clear light.

175.  As for those who believe in Allah, and hold fast unto Him, then He will cause to enter into His mercy and grace, and will guide them unto Him by a Straight Path.
174.  Yaaa-‘ayyu-hannaasu  qad  jaaa-‘akum  Bur-haanum-mir-Rabbikum  wa  ‘anzal-Naaa  ‘ilay-kum  Nuuram-mubiinaa.

175.  Fa  ‘ammal-laziina  ‘aamanuu  Billaahi  wa’-tasamuu  biHii  fasa-yud-khiluhum  fii  Rah-matim-minHu  wa  Fazlinw-wa  yah-diihim-  ‘ilayhi  Siraatam-Musta- qiimaa.

    Commentary

Bur-haanun – (a proof, a document, a certificate), such a final token and true proof (here it signifies towards; Holy Qur’aan), after which no doubt remains more and acting upon which becomes compulsory.

Nuuram-mubiinun – (a clear light), it aims the Light of Holy Qur’aan, the Word of Allah Almighty.

’A’-tasamuu – (Hold it fast), its origin is ‘A’-tasaam, which has been derived from ‘asmat, which means ‘rescue, defense’. ‘A’-tasaam means ‘to hold someone or something fast’, as any drowning person catches anything strongly to save himself.

Different forms of Inspiration and about their truth have been mentioned in the first verse. After that, it has been described that the Last Messenger (Muhammad) (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) has come unto you with Original and True Word of God. It is good for you, if you believe in Him {(Muhammad) (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him)}.

You would harm nothing of Allah Almighty, if you would not believe. However you will harm yourselves in case of disbelief. An important thing has been told by addressing the entire human beings, “Yaaa-‘ayyu-hannaasu  qad  jaaa-‘akum  Bur-haanum-mir-Rabbikum  wa  ‘anzalNaaa  ‘ilay-kum  Nuuram-mubiinaa” (O mankind! Surely, We have sent down unto you a clear light (a Book of Instructions i.e. Holy Qur’aan), which has a proof from your Lord, which has no doubt, anxiety or hesitation in itself. That is a bright, open and splendid illumination and inspiration, in which good and bad can be seen clearly and separately. Those people see the Truth in its Light very clearly, whose eyes are powerful and eyesight is correct. They adopt the reality immediately after understanding. On the contrary, those people, who are unable to understand the Truth, either their vision is spoiled or they have any defect in their eyes.

The good and dutiful people, who have become of only One God (Allah Almighty) and do not trust in any other except Him, and hold the Holy Qur’aan fast, He will cause to enter such people into His mercy and grace, His Bounty will surround them from each side, and He will guide them unto a Straight Path.

Retribution of Belief and good deeds - Quran Chapter 4 -173 (Pt-6, Stg-1) (L-635) - درس قرآن

Quran Chapter 4- 173 (Pt-6, Stg-1) (L-635) - درس قرآن

Retribution of Belief and good deeds

Suratun-Nisaaa’  (The Women) – Chapter – 4)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast.)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)

173.  Then, as for those who believed and did good works, unto them will He pay their rewards in full, adding unto them of His Bounty; and as for those who were scornful and proud, them will He punish with a painful doom; and they will not find for them, against Allah, any protecting friend or helper.
173.  Fa-‘ammal-laziina  ‘aamanuu  wa  ‘amilus-saali-haati  fa-yu-waffiihim  ‘ujuurahum  wa  yazii- duhum-min  fazliH.  Wa  ‘ammal-laziinas-tankafuu  was-takbaruu  fayu-‘azzi-buhum  ‘azaaban  ‘aliimaa.  Wa  laa  yaji-duuna  lahum-min-duuNillaahi  waliy-yanw-wa  laa  nasiiraa.

    Commentary

Fa-yu-waffiihim – (will pay them in full), origin of this word is ‘waf-yun’ and which has been derived from “’iifaa”, and the word wafaa is also from it. It means “to pay in full, to return in original”.

‘Ajrun – (Reward, retaliation), in Arabic language, usually this word is used for both purposes i.e. as good and bad retaliation. However, here it has come in the meanings of ‘good retaliation’ (reward).

‘As-takbaruu – (were proud), this word has come out from kabara, ‘istakbaar. Takabbar is used for self-praise, showing superiority and ostentation. That is to say; to consider and disclose oneself more than actually one is.

Waliy-yun - (protecting friend), walaa-yat and tawallii are also from the same origin. Its plural is ‘Awli-yaaa’, which means ‘friends, companions’.

After describing about religious false tenets of the People of the Scripture and from them particularly the Jews, now it is being commanded that worthy of rewards are only those people, whose belief and deeds are correct. As though, for the chaste and pure life, purity of thoughts and for the right fancies, soundness of the deeds are inseparable for each other.

These undefiled, sincere and internally innocent slaves of Allah Almighty, who are called Believers, are entitled to get rewards in full and more Bounties from their Lord Almighty. But those persons, who feel scorn from these beauties and show superiority (who are proud), they will be entangled in a very painful doom. There will be neither any protecting friend, nor helper and nor any companion for them.

Admitting the slavery of Allah - Quran Chapter 4 -172 (Pt-6, Stg-1) (L-634) - درس قرآن

Quran Chapter 4- 172 (Pt-6, Stg-1) (L-634) - درس قرآن

Admitting the slavery of Allah

Suratun-Nisaaa’  (The Women) – Chapter – 4)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast.)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)

172.  The Messiah will never scorn to be a slave unto Allah, nor will the favoured angels. And whoso scorneth His service and is proud, all such will He assemble unto Him.
172.  Lany-yas-tankifal-Masiihu  ‘any-yakuuna  ‘Abdal-LIllaahi  wa  lal-malaaa-‘ikatul-mu-qarra-buun.  Wa  many-yastankif  ‘an  ‘ibaa-datihii  wa  yas-takbir  fasa-yah-shuruhum  ‘ilayhi  jamii-‘aa.

    Commentary

Yas-tankif – (will scorn), this word is from ‘istankaaf, which means ‘to scorn, to feel shame, to have a sense of disgrace, to turn up one’s nose and knit the eyebrows, to disclose one’s disgust’.

‘Al-mu-qarra-buuna – (most favored), this word has been derived from the word ‘Qurb’, which means ‘propinquity, nearness’. It is plural of Muqarrab, that is to say; the person, who is very close to someone. ‘Al-malaaa-‘ikatul-mu-qarra-buuna – {most favored Angels (peace be upon them)}, as the Seraphim named ‘Gabriel, Michael, Israfiel and‘Izrail (peace be upon them) are considered most favored Angels of Allah Almighty. They (peace be upon them) have been detailed on specific duties.

The People of the Scripture have been commanded that Messenger Jesus (peace be upon Him) takes up glory with His mind as being Servant of Allah Almighty. He will never turn, nor will most favored Angels (peace be upon them) turn up their noses and knit their eyebrows from it. Those people who steal away from the worship of Allah Almighty and scorn their services, they should remember the Truth that Allah Almighty will gather the entire human beings unto Him on the Day of Resurrection. Then, He will give rewards to those out of them, who would be His servants, well-doers, Believers and His obedient. He will bestow them comfort and satisfaction, and will please them according to their status in abstinence and chastity. But those people, who used to run away from His worship and scorn His service, they will suffer from a very painful doom. Nobody will be able to save them.

Heretofore, the People of the Scripture were addressed and guided in clear words in this matter that they should not transgress the limits of their religion, nor utter aught concerning Allah Almighty, His commands and His Scriptures save the truth, and should not consider that exaggeration and wrong saying are lawful. They should not talk that, which is entirely and certainly contrary to the truth about Jesus (peace be upon Him). While Messiah (peace be upon Him) takes it as a pride to be a servant of Allah Almighty, then why do you avoid asserting this matter? He (peace be upon Him) never scorned to be a slave unto Allah Almighty, then who are you turning up your nose and knitting the eyebrows from it?

Warning for the People of the Scripture - Quran Chapter 4 -171 (Pt-6, Stg-1) (L-633) - درس قرآن

Quran Chapter 4- 171 (Pt-6, Stg-1) (L-633) - درس قرآن

Warning for the People of the Scripture

Suratun-Nisaaa’  (The Women) – Chapter – 4)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast.)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)

171.  O People of the Scripture! Do not exaggerate in your religion nor utter aught concerning Allah save the truth. The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only a messenger of Allah, and His Word which He conveyed unto Mary, and a spirit from Him; so believe in Allah and His messengers, and say not “Three”. Cease! (it is) better for you! Allah is only One God. Far be it from His Transcendent Majesty to have a son. His is all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. And Allah is Sufficient as Defender.
171.  Yaaa-‘ahlal-Kitaabi  laa tagluu  fii diinikum  wa  laa  taquuluu  ‘alAllaahi  ‘illal-haqq.  ‘Innamal- Masiihu  ‘Ii-sabnu- Maryama  RasuulUllaahi  wa  Kalimatuh.  ‘Alqaa-haaa  ‘ilaa  Maryama  wa  ruuhum-minh.  Fa-‘aaminuu  Billaahi  wa  RusuliH.  Wa  laa  taquuluu  Salaasah.  ‘Intahuu  khayral-lakum.  ‘Inna-mAllaahu  ‘Ilaahunw-Waahid.  Sub-haa-naHuuu  ‘any-yakuuna  laHuu  walad.  LaHuu  maa  fis-samaawaati  wa  maa  fil-‘arz.  Wa  kafaa  Billaahi  Wakiilaa.

    Commentary

‘Innamaa – (undoubtedly, certainly, without any doubt), this word is used at only such times and occasions, when and where we want to say, “No doubt, It is, the matter is only this, nothing except it”. Sub-haa-na - (Far be it, purity and separation from each type of defect and harm). That is to say; Allah Almighty is Heaven, Pure and clear from every kind of vice and loss, and due to this reason, He is also pure from being a father, which is a sign of necessity. KalimatuH  (His Word), to manifest the Desire of Allah Almighty in the form of Word.

It has been commanded by Allah Almighty that you should not exaggerate in the limits of your religion, nor utter aught concerning Him. Say only that, which His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) tells you, because that is the truth, and remaining all are false notions and absurd ideas.

The Messiah, Jesus is son of Mary (peace be upon them), He is a Word of Allah Almighty, which was conveyed unto Mary. He (peace be upon Him) is a soul out of the treasuries of the souls of Allah Almighty which was revealed towards Mary (peace be upon her) and was only a messenger of Allah Almighty.

You should believe in Allah Almighty as it is necessary, also believe in His Messengers (peace be upon Them). Do not invent such false notions as “Three Gods”. The dignity of Jesus (peace be upon Him) has been elevated by using these words, which does not have even a very little reflection of truth, whereas the Degree of Allah Almighty has been demoted too down that the sense cannot accept it.

Listen with open ears about Allah Almighty that He Alone is Worshipped of entire creatures without any partner. Far be it from His Transcendent Majesty to have a son. His is all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth, and the entire are under His Jurisdiction, Power and Authority.
