Quran Chapter 6 – 21 & 22 (Pt-7, Stg-2) (L-790) - درس قرآن

O Muslims! Look within yourselves

Surah ‘Al-‘An-‘aam (Cattle) – Chapter – 6)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast.)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)

Let’s consider thoughtfully and ascertain once again in this lesson on the verses, we discussed in the previous lesson. A rule has been described in the verses, which can never be broken. That rule is: the consequence of the oppressor will never be good. The word “wrongdoer” (tyrant) is very famous. He is called a wrongdoer, who tyrannizes. Tyranny means either to do such an act or to say such words, which hurt either oneself or someone else, or it lets other people to make wrong assumptions about anyone. The meaning of “the consequence will never be good” is that the tyrant is disgraced and humiliated even in the world, and whether he dwells in a good state for a few days in the beginning, but at last, he is ruined and thrown away. If he is saved in the world someway, after death he will undergo severe torment and restlessness. He dies in such a condition that the people begin to hate him.

The worst form of the tyranny is that someone commits such an act or talks in such manner, due to which either he becomes an arrogant of Allah Almighty, or which causes to spread false notions about Allah Almighty among the people, or which becomes cause of contempt in respect of either any Prophet/Messenger (peace be upon Him), or Holy Qur’aan, or Islam. In the group of tyranny – ascribing plurality to Allah Almighty, claim of Prophet-hood after the last Messenger, Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him), against the principles of Islam interpretation of Holy Qur’aan as one’s mind desires, denial of Hadith {Sayings of the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him)} and all matters of this type come.

In the beginning of Islam, the tyranny was customary in two forms i.e. calling the Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) a liar and considering the Holy Qur’aan a collection of some common tales and stories, and not giving any importance to Its Commands. In the previous lesson, these both forms of wrongdoing were discussed, though it is the Cause of this verse’s Revelation.

The Formula of this verse will be applied during every era for every form of tyranny. Every tyrant will suffer from the same punishment, which has been described in this verse. The form of decision will also be the same, which has been cleared here. That is to say; whosoever will be disgraced and failed at the end, will be a tyrant, and whosoever will be rewarded and succeeded, will be known that he was not a tyrant.

The Muslims should reconsider their condition after reciting this verse, “Wherever are they not involved in any form of tyranny? Whether are they not saying such words or doing such acts due to which they would have been disgracing either Allah Almighty, or His Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him), or Holy Qur’aan, or Islam? (Allaah forbid) Wherever our deeds not as are, there is a fear of insult in respect of all above? If it is true, then we are also wrongdoers and greater tyrants, and if the prescribed punishment of tyrants is not applied on us today, then there is a threat of it tomorrow (on the Day of Resurrection).

That has never been proved as wrong, which the Holy Qir’aan has commanded. There is no need of going in detail, we should think, confessing and being ashamed of our faults that if a Muslim is either a drunkard, gambler, thief, robber, fornicator, dishonest, rascal, greedy of wealth, killer, immoral, arrogant or fond of talking bawdy, then at least, is he not insulting and defaming Islam?

Commentary

It was described in the previous verse: The Word of Allah Almighty is Itself Witness over Oneness of Allah Almighty. Then it was explained that the Jews and the Christians recognize well that Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) is a True Messenger of Allah Almighty and that He (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) can never tell a lie.

By another argument, these both matters have been proved in this verse. That can be summarized as, if Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) is a liar in His claim of Prophet-hood, then He calumniates against Allah Almighty. Therefore, on the basis of this reason, He (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) is a wrongdoer (Let us flee to Allah).

On the other side, those people, who do not believe in Holy Qur’aan and ascribe partners unto Allah Almighty, they accuse the greatest and clear Revelations of Allah Almighty falsely. So they are greater wrongdoers. And there is a prescribed rule for the wrongdoers that they do not succeed at the end.

Now the decision that either Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) is a wrongdoer (Let us flee to Allah) or these disbelievers, will be known by the fact that who succeeds in the last. So, the opponents observed “who failed” and it was clear that Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) succeeded, He (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) was True, not a wrongdoer. And His opponents who failed were wrongdoers and liars.

It was the decision of the world. The real Day of the Decision (the Day of Resurrection) is near to come. On that Day, Allah Almighty will gather and ask the entire wrongdoers and sinners, “Where are (now) those partners of your make-believe?”

It is commanded that two people are greater wrongdoers:

1.    The person, who slanders such a lie against Allah Almighty, which has been revealed by Him, that is to say; claims falsely of prophet-hood.

2.    He, who denies and falsifies His clear Revelations and ascribes partners (unto Allah Almighty).

And there is a prescribed rule for the wrongdoers that they fail at the end. The people saw in the world that Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) succeeded and His opponents failed, because He (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) was True and His opponents were liars.

Even on the Day of Resurrection, the idolaters will be embarrassed by saying: Request them today, whom you used to ascribe partners of Allah Almighty in the world and see, “How much they can help you, otherwise, suffer the punishment of your wrongdoings.

Failure of Muslims

Surah ‘Al-‘An-‘aam (Cattle) – Chapter – 6)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast.)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)

The aim of the Revelation of Holy Qur’aan has been described very clearly in the previous verses. It has been made incumbent upon the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) and care of Him, upon the entire Muslim nation, that they should keep this object in front and fulfill it, as it appears from the meaning of above-mentioned verse.

It has been mentioned in the previous verse: The Holy Qur’aan has been inspired upon Muhammad, the Last Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) that the people, who exist at the spot, should be warned by this source (Holy Qur’aan) that there is a very severe danger in either opposing it or not drawing proper attention towards it. And it is the duty of all Muslims to manifest this subject (not only these people, who are present, but by means of them, also of those human beings, whom this Holy Qur’aan reaches until the Day of Resurrection.

It is open that this Holy Word will reach up to more people even after the departure of the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him). At that time, the Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) will not grace the world with His presence. So this duty will rest upon His nation; that they should inform the people about the threat of not acting upon the commands, mentioned in Holy Qur’aan. And they should explain its meaning in such a manner that nobody would have any objection that “we were not taught like this, otherwise we would have thought on its commandments, and acted upon them”.

It is known clearly from this verse that Muhammad is the last Prophet and Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) and the Holy Qur’aan is the Last Scripture, which was revealed in the world. No inspiration will be revealed upon anyone after it. It is why that it has been revealed: “Allah is Witness between me and you. And this Qur’aan hath been inspired in me, that I may warn therewith you and whomsoever it may reach” (with effect from His time to the Day of Resurrection): verse 19a. it is Your and Your nation’s duty after You (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) to teach all of them.

The Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) performed His duty in such a manner that He caused to hear the people by reciting the Holy Qur’aan and guided: You should continue your effort also to deliver it up to other people like Me. He (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) was not satisfied to cause to hear only but explained the meanings of Holy Qur’aan. And He acted upon it with such a practice that He set the importance of its commands in the hearts of the people properly.

There are two parts of this Duty:

1.    Learning the words of Holy Qur’aan own by heart and conveying them up to other people, and as the Messenger of Allah Almighty acted upon it and that, what He commanded to cause to know its meanings, which are called Hadith (Sayings of the Messenger), keep it also safe and cause to reach others.

2.    Informing the human beings about its importance and necessity for the human life.

The Muslims performed first part of the duty to some extent, but sorry to say! Duty of the second part could not be performed properly as it needed. The value of any practical program, as it is Holy Qur’aan, can remain established, when it will be respected personally and properly. To advice others, but not to follow personally, makes the advice useless. With which mouth I say that Islam has the best way of life, whereas I don’t act upon it strictly myself? Verbally I praise it very much, but when the time for action comes, I learn from others “how to dwell” and adopt their ways of living. Observe nowadays, as much as fun and play, immodesty and obscenity, wickedness and immorality, deceit and treachery is customary in others, that is, but more than them is customary in the Muslims. But verbally they (the Muslims) say: Fear Allah Almighty, be pious and adopt abstinence. Is it not unforgivable crime and sin?

Commentary

It was described in the previous verse: Allah Almighty is The Witness over My {Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him)} purity/truth. And the biggest source of Allah’s recognition is Holy Qur’aan, introducing the competitive Word like which, the entire people have been rendered helpless. If, in the presence of so much big Witness (Qur’aan), you people will continue ascribing plurality to Allah Almighty, then no wise person will accompany you. And I have come only to spread the teachings of Holy Qur’aan. I can never witness your misconception.

There is a straight forward acceptance in this verse, by denying from giving evidence of plurality and infidelity that Allah (God) Almighty is only One. Allah Almighty commands: Say! He is only One God. Lo! I am clear of that which ye associate with Him. Whether you believe or disbelieve, only it is the truth.

There can be No other Worshipped except Allah Almighty. And the matter, that; you use to make partners with Allah Almighty and do not accept His Unity, I do not have any concern with it. My heart hates this deed and I proclaim My (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) open and fair displeasure from your such act (ascribing any partner with Allah Almighty).

The idolaters used to say to the Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him): Produce any witness on your Messenger-hood. We have observed by asking from them, whom God gave the Scripture also, but they have not given any evidence that You are a Messenger.

As answer to their question, the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) produced Allah Almighty as Witness over His Truth, which was discussed in the previous lesson, but the fact regarding not providing the evidence by the Jews and the Christians has been described in this verse.

Allah Almighty says: Those unto whom We gave the Scripture before this (Qur’aan), recognize Our Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) certainly as they recognize their own sons. Surely they have no any doubt that You are Allah’s Last Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him), because Glad Tidings and Tokens about You (Muhammad) have been mentioned very clearly in their Scriptures. And they have recognized the Last Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) very well by reciting the Revelations into their own Scriptures. But their perversity and worldly covetousness have bent them upon being ignorant intentionally. This is the ill-disposition and greed, which will ruin and destroy them in future, so they do not give evidence of Messenger-hood before you.

Truly; the people, who have been prepared intentionally to harm themselves, how will they believe?

Commentary

It has been explained in the previous lessons that the idolaters said to Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him): If you are a Messenger, Who is your witness? Allah Almighty taught His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) this answer to their question: Say! Allah Almighty is Witness over my Truth. If being ignorant, they ask You: Who is Allah? And if they show carelessness from Our Revelations, then You should say to them: One such Powerful Portent exists before you, denial from which, is equal to the denial of one’s own existence. That Token is This “Holy Qur’aan”. Can you say that, this Word can be of any human being? It has invited you Itself: If you consider It the Word of any mankind, then it is a challenge for all human beings forever “make and show the word like Me (Holy Qur’aan)”, and it has claimed: If the entire people of the world try collectively to make any such book equal to the Holy Qur’aan, they will never be able to do so.

While it is not the Word of any human being, then it manifests that surely it would be the Word of that Person, Who Knows more than any mankind, and certainly He is Allah Almighty, and I, Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) produce Him as My Witness.

The same meaning has been explained in this verse: My Witness is Allah Almighty and proof of Allah’s existence is This “Holy Qur’aan”. It is commanded: Unhesitatingly I produce Allah Almighty as My Witness because I have His Holy Word with Me (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him). And you know that this Holy Word cannot be of any other than Allah Almighty, because the entire human beings have been rendered helpless from producing any such Word like This. Now it is My duty that I should stand up with this Holy Word, Which Allah Almighty has revealed upon Me, and inform all of them including you, that it is the Truth, what has been written in it, and certainly that person will be ruined, who will go against it.

After so biggest Revelation and Evidence, will you even then continue to cram that Allah Almighty is not Worshiped alone, but there are some more worshipped? You will be responsible of your own, if you will not give up stupidity. However I shall never bear such witness.

Commentary

The aim of this Chapter is: To explain about Allah Almighty and His all Epithets, that is to say; He is One. He has neither any associate nor any partner. All creatures like animals, birds, beasts (of prey or other), cattle, demons, mankind, Angels, Prophets, Saints, Spiritual Guides and Messengers (peace be upon Them) etc. the entire creatures are His servants. None of them can do something without His Command. You should worship none but Him only. Ask or pray not for a boon from any creature, nor seek any other for help except Allah Almighty. In this regard, this Chapter (Surah) is an Explanation of Surah 1- ‘Al-Faatihah (The Opening) and Surah  112 - ‘Ikhlaas (The Unity). That, which has been described briefly in those both Chapters, has been explained clearly in this Chapter.

Every mention, every event and even that every sentence/verse of this Chapter keeps this aim in front that God Almighty is One. The entire Powers and Authorities are only of Him. And the entire things, whether those are biggest, are worthless before His Greatness and Magnificence.

It is commanded that Allah Almighty is the Omnipotent and Excelling over His slaves (all creatures). Whether a mankind has any greatest dignity, anyhow he is His servant. The Angels, Prophet Moses, Jesus and Muhammad (peace be upon Them) are also Servants of Allah Almighty and helpless before Him. He commands, and it is the only duty of the Servants to obey His Commands. They take just pride in being His Servants.

This Promise has been mentioned very clearly in 2nd Kalimah “The Word of Testimony” that “I bear witness that (there is) no god except Allah; One is He, no partner hath He, and I bear witness that Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) is His Servant and Messenger”. Think a little, then who can be greater than the Last Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him), who turn away from being His servant? If someone says, “Who is witness of your this claim?” Ask him, “Who can be biggest witness in your opinion”? Common sense replies: That can be the Biggest Witness, Who is Aware and Knower of the reality of everything. And none has this excellence except Allah Almighty, so He is the Witness between Me and you.

This matter will be manifested upon everyone on the Day of Resurrection like the daylight, because when every person will see own close relatives, friends and familiars running away from oneself, will find them fallen into “every one for itself”. Kinsmen and women, friends and familiars, the teacher and the chief, the saint and the friends of God Almighty will answer that “We are unable to do something”.

The people will report every Prophet and Messenger (from Adam to Muhammad including Noah, Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, David and Jesus (peace be upon Them) turn by turn, and request to help them. Every Prophet and Messenger (peace be upon Them) will reply them that they cannot help them. In the last, all of them will produce themselves in the court of the last Messenger, Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him). He (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) will produce Himself in the Court of Allah Almighty and request, “I may kindly be permitted to mediate and recommend the creature”.

On the Day of Resurrection, everyone will find entirely powerless and helpless to the whole like Angels, Prophets and Messengers (peace be upon Them), human beings, spiritual guides, Saints, lords and demons etc. (the entire creatures). But by mentioning about that Day, Holy Qur’aan desires to cause to engage the attention in this side that everybody should understand today, in this world, and believe that all above-mentioned are helpless and powerless save Allah Almighty, and don’t beg for anything from anyone. Believing in Allah Almighty means, “you are sure that none can do for you anything except Him”.

If the human being has such certain Belief in this world as he would be known on the Day of Resurrection, then it will be called “’Iimaan bil gayb” (Belief in the Unseen), that is to say; to consider only Allah Almighty as one’s Doer and Supplier of the wants, and to supplicate only before Him. The consequence of such belief will be that the Believer will be bestowed with the deliverance from the punishment.

It is commanded that trouble, pain, calamity, distress (the entire) is from the side of Allah Almighty. Neither has any person any power to hurt anyone but He, and nor anyone can remove any detriment without Him. In the same manner, ease, pleasure and goodness are also from His side. Neither anyone can cause to gain any other save His permission, and nor can fulfill any want, because everything is in His Power. Without Him, the whole are helpless and humble. But the stupid people of this time, ask His servants to help at the time of difficulty, leaving Allah Almighty. They have established many kinds of customs and traditions. They say, “the help, which we want from the Prophets (peace be upon Them) and the Saints (‘Awli-yaa’) (may Allah be merciful on Them) is for the purpose that none can climb on the roof without a stair. It is replied that obedience of the commands of Allah Almighty is its stair, and He has ordered that you should not call any other for help save Him.

Allah Almighty is the Omnipotent - (1)

Surah ‘Al-‘An-‘aam (Cattle) – Chapter – 6)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast.)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)

16.  He from whom (such retribution) is averted on that Day, He (Allah) hath in truth had mercy on him. And that will be the signal triumph.

17.  If Allah touch thee with affliction, there is none that can relieve therefrom save Him, and if He touch thee with good fortune (there is none that can impair it); then He is Able to do all things.
16.  Many-yusraf  ‘anhu  yawma-‘i-zin  faqad  rahimaH.  Wa  zaalikal-fawzul-mubiin.

17.  Wa  ‘iny-yam-sas-KAllaahu  bi-zurrin  falaa  kaashifa  lahuuu  ‘illaa  Huu.  Wa  ‘iny-yam-saska  bi-khayrin-  fa-Huwa  ‘alaa  kulli  shay-‘in- Qadiir.

Commentary

In the previous verses, Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) was addressed and commanded: Be the first to surrender unto Allah Almighty, and be not Thou (O Muhammad) of the idolaters. You should set up yourself as a model role of “God’s obedient and displeased from the belief in a plurality of God” by your behavior. And you should say to the people: I fear the retribution of an Awful Day (the Day of Resurrection), if I disobey my Lord.

The pattern of terrible doom has been described in such a manner in this verse, which will be suffered by the disbelievers on the Day of Resurrection, that dictation of any other than Holy Qur’aan cannot explain so much beautifully, and that, there is none helper in the calamity save Allah Almighty. So you should beg before Him, if you want anything. That, which you will obtain, will be with His Mercy. Everything is in His Power. No power has any other person that he may do something for you.

It is commanded that if someone has been entangled in the doom on the Day of Resurrection, it will be very difficult for him to come out from it. The punishment can be in the form of bodily pains, trouble, restlessness, distraction, perception of despair and helplessness, which will bring forth the soul at the stage of half-dead). During troubles, if someone exists to console, then the person in trouble feels some relief, but if there is none who may relieve therefrom save Allah Almighty, then you should consider thoughtfully about your confusions.
