Quran Chapter 3- 58 to 60 (Pt-3, Stg-1) (L-396) - درس قرآن

The likeness of Jesus with God

Surah ‘Aali-‘Im-raan (The Family of ‘Imran) – Chptr – 3)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

58.  This (which) We recite unto thee is a Revelation and the wise reminder.

59.  Lo! the likeness of Jesus with Allah is as the likeness of Adam. He created him of dust, then He said unto him: Be! and he is.

60.  (This is) the truth from thy Lord (O Muhammad), so be not thou of those who waver.
58.  Zaalika  Nat-luuhu  ‘alayka  minal-‘Aayaati  waz-Zikril-Hakiim.

59. ‘Inna  masala  ‘Iisaa  ‘indAllaahi  ka-masali  ‘Aadam.  Khalaqahuu  min-  turaabin-  summa  qaala  lahuu  ‘KUN’  fayakuun.

60. ‘Al-Haqqu  mir-Rabbika  falaa  takum-minal-mumtariin.

Commentary

Allah Almighty described the entire realities about Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) to the Messenger Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) and commanded, “if the Christians quarrel even then with You (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) regarding Prophet Jesus Christ (peace be upon him), then you should not care for them. Denier of the sunlight is called blind like this; the denier of the realities is a wretched and an unfortunate”.

The people of Scripture used to quarrel with the Messenger of God Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) in the matter that Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) was not servant of Allah Almighty but was His son. They used to say, “if he (peace be upon him) is not son of God Almighty then you (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) should tell us, whose son He (peace be upon him) was”? Responding them, Allah Almighty said, “Prophet Adam (peace be upon Him) did have neither father nor mother. Therefore, if Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) had not father then what is there to be wonder? Not having by anyone father, it does not mean that he is son of God. Otherwise, like this, the grade of Prophet Adam (peace be upon Him) should be higher than Prophet Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) and he (peace be upon him) would have more right to be called as son of God”.

It is the reality that as God Almighty created Prophet Adam (peace be upon him) from the dust, He created Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) from the dust also. Likeness of both of them is the same (peace be upon them). Neither Prophet Adam (peace be upon him) was son of God nor Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him). After that, Allah Almighty commanded to the last Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), “Whatever We described about “Messiah” (peace be upon him), that entire is quite correct. There is no space for doubt in it. You (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) should never be from the people who have doubts”.

Illustrating by example of Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) as Prophet Adam (peace be upon him), Allah Almighty has proved such clear evidence that no choice of argument remains now in this matter. The Father of entire human beings who (Adam; peace be upon Him) was born in heaven without mother and father, if he (peace be upon Him) is neither God and nor son of God, then one, who is born from the womb of a mother in this world, how can he (peace be upon him) be son of God?

Payment of wages to Believers in full - Quran Chapter 3- 57 (Pt-3, Stg-1) (L-395) - درس قرآن

Quran Chapter 3- 57 (Pt-3, Stg-1) (L-395) - درس قرآن

Payment of wages to Believers in full

Surah ‘Aali-‘Im-raan (The Family of ‘Imran) – Chptr – 3)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

57.  And as for those who believe and do good works, He will pay them their wages in full. And Allah loveth not wrongdoers.
57.  Wa  ‘ammallaziina  ‘aama-nuu  wa    ‘amilus-saalihaati  fayu-wafiihim  ‘ujuurahum.  Wallaahu  laa  yuhibbuz-zaalimiin.

Commentary

It was discussed in the previous verses that Allah Almighty would destroy the plots of the disbeliever Jews. He would save His Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) from their causing troubles with His most dignified and best management. He would disgrace and abase the Infidels, punish them severely in this world and in the Hereafter. In this verse, it has been mentioned about the wages and remuneration of the Believers and Pious persons.

We believe that when the children of Israel strengthened their impure schemes, then Allah Almighty picked the Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) up alive to the heavens. Many Sayings of the Last Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) give clues that when the world will fill with infidelity and depravity near the Hereafter, then Jesus (peace be upon him) will be sent down by Allah Almighty as a most faithful helper of Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him). Allah Almighty will show the world, “How much good relations have former Prophets (peace be upon them) with His beloved and last Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him)”. Jesus (peace be upon him) will slay The Liar (Dajjaal) and kill his follower Jews; searching them hither and thither. No Jew will remain alive. Until that the trees and stones will tell, “Kill the Jew who is standing behind us”. Jesus (peace be upon him) will break the Crucifix. He (peace be upon him) will put the entire world on the path of Belief after reforming the false beliefs of the Christians. Then only God’s true religion Islam will remain at the end of all dissensions.

It is known from the previous lesson that Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) has been elevated alive to the heavens and the faith of the Jews is false that he (peace be upon him) was slain. There is no known reason to disbelieve in it, if it is perused with deep thought. If Jesus (peace be upon him) can be born without father, if he can fashion out of clay the likeness of a bird, and he breathes into it and it is a bird, by Allah’s leave and if he can heal the person who was born blind, and the leper, and if he can raise the dead by Allah’s leave, then how can it be far to pick his body up by Allah’s leave? As the Angels (peace be upon them) are present in the heavens, likewise Jesus (peace be upon him) can live there for thousands of the years.

It is not wisdom to sit in a state of ease and comfort; waiting for arrival of Jesus (peace be upon him). It is our (all Muslims’) duty that we should try our best to raise the Word of Allah Almighty and keep performing the duties every time rested upon us by Islam.

Promises of God with Jesus

Surah ‘Aali-‘Im-raan (The Family of ‘Imran) – Chptr – 3)

55.  (And remember) when Allah said: O Jesus! Lo! I am gathering thee and causing thee to ascend unto Me, and am cleansing thee of those who disbelieve and am setting those who follow thee above those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection. Then unto Me ye will (all) return, so I shall judge between you as to that wherein ye used to differ.

Commentary

When The king, whose ears were poisoned by the disbelievers (children of Israel) (as we have learnt in the previous lesson), sent the persons to arrest the Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him), so that he might be punished and crucified as much severely that other people take it warning and give up following him (peace be upon him).

Then Allah Almighty satisfied the Prophet Messiah (peace be upon him) and said, “I shall ruin the plans and schemes of those people. They are thinking to kill you and destroy the purpose of My Guidance to the people from your birth. If they did so, I (Allah Almighty) will get back My this Blessing from them. I shall complete your life in this world and purpose of your (peace be upon him) birth in all respect”.

“It will be done so, that I shall take you up to Me safe and sound. They wish to crucify you (peace be upon him), We shall carry you to heaven. They desire to disgrace you and prevent the people to follow you. But We shall keep you out of their reach and pick you up quite pure and innocent from their indecent environment. Despite it that you are disgraced and the people are hindered from following you due to fear, We shall keep overcoming your followers and believers upon the disbelievers until the Day of Resurrection”.

“Then in the Hereafter, when the entire human beings will return to Me, I shall judge between them as to that wherein they used to differ. As for those who disbelieve I shall chastise them with a heavy chastisement in the Hereafter; and they will have no helpers. And the Believers will be given full remuneration of their good deeds”.

Undoubtedly, Allah Almighty does not like the unjust people.

52.  But when Jesus became conscious of their disbelief, he said: Who will be my helpers in the cause of Allah? The disciples said: We will be Allah’s helpers. We believe in Allah, and bear thou witness that we have surrendered (unto Him).

53.  Our Lord! We believe in that which Thou hast revealed and we follow him whom Thou hast sent, so enroll us among those who witness (to the truth).

54.  And they (the disbelievers) schemed, and Allah schemed (against them), and Allah is the best of schemers.
52.  Falammaaa  ‘ahassa  ‘Iisaa  min-humul-Kufra  qaala  man ‘Ansaariii  ’ilAllaah.  Qaalal-Hawaa-riyyuuna  nahnu  ‘Ansaa-rUllaah.  ‘Aamannaa  Billaah.  Wash-had  bi-‘annaa  Muslimuun.

53. Rabbanaaa  ‘aamannaa  bi-maa  ‘anzalTa  wattaba’-nar-Rasuula  fak-tubnaa  ma-‘ash-Shaahidiin.

54. Wa  makaruu  wa  makarAllaah.  Wallaahu  Khayrul-maa-kiriin.

Commentary

‘Al-Hawaa-riyyuuna – (it is plural of Hawaari which means companion, friend, disciple, helper etc.), the philosophers of the religion have different views about the ‘al-Hawaa-riyyuun. General opinion about it is that at first two persons out of the children of Israel believed in Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him). They were washer-men. Due to washing the clothes, they were called Hawaarii. Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) described them, “Come and learn from me (peace be upon him), how to purify the hearts”. They said, “We are standing in the service”. Therefore, they were entitled Hawaarii.

When the children of Israel disbelieved opposing the invitation and preaching of Prophet Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) and he (peace be upon him) knew that those people would never accept his religion. But they were thinking to give him pain and trouble, then he announced, “Who will be my helpers in the cause of Allah”? Those ‘al-Hawaa-riyyuun (companions) answered to the prophet Jesus (peace be upon him), “We will be your helpers in the religion of Allah. We believe in Allah, and bear O Jesus our witness that we have surrendered for the cause of Allah. We shall follow the Messenger (peace be upon him) of God Almighty. Our Lord! We believe in that which You have revealed and we follow him whom You have sent, so enroll us among those who witness to the truth.

Makarun – (scheme, plan, gait), the children of Israel began different kinds of conspiracies and secret schemes against Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him). Even that they poisoned the ears of then existing king, that this person (Jesus) was a mutineer of the government and wanted to change the Torah (Scripture) (Allah forbid). The King ordered to arrest Jesus Christ (peace be upon him). At the other hand Allah Almighty schemed Himself, which will be discussed in the next lesson. Without any doubt, Allah Almighty is the Best of schemers. None can break it.

Teaching by Jesus (peace be upon him) - Quran Chapter 3- 50 & 51 (Pt-3, Stg-1) (L-392) - درس قرآن

Quran Chapter 3- 50 & 51 (Pt-3, Stg-1) (L-392) - درس قرآن

Teaching by Jesus (peace be upon him)

Surah ‘Aali-‘Im-raan (The Family of ‘Imran) – Chptr – 3)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

50.  And (I have come) confirming that which was before me of the Torah, and to make lawful some of that which was forbidden unto you. And I have come unto you with a sign from your Lord. So keep your duty to Allah and obey me.

51.  Lo! Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is a straight path.
50.  Wa  Musaddiqal—limaa  bayna  yadayya  minat-Tawraati  wa  li-‘uhilla  lakum  ba’-zallazii  hurrima  ‘alaykum  wa  ji’-tu--  kum  bi- ‘Aayatim-mir-Rabbi-kum,   fatta-qUllaaha  wa  ‘atii-‘uun.

51.  ‘InnAllaaha  Rabbii  wa  Rabbukum  fa’-buduuH.  Haazaa  Siraatum-mustaqiim.

Commentary

Prophet Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) commanded to his nation, the children of Israel, “I confirm the Torah which was revealed upon Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) before me. That was revealed from Allah Almighty and that is a true Scripture. Keeping its ordinary principles and commands firm, I shall make some changes in the instructions by the order of God Almighty, which will be suitable according to the present times. As there was some severity in a few instructions, that will be lifted now. The things, which were made forbidden as punishment due to your wicked deeds, I shall make them lawful for you. You can use them without any hesitation, risk and fear. And I have come towards you with a sign of Prophet-hood and Messenger-hood from your Lord. He has bestowed me many miracles. So keep your duty to Allah Almighty in accord with the guidelines, illustrated by me and follow me”.

It is easily understood here that sobriety, abstinence and piety is hidden in the obedience of the Messenger (peace be upon him). The Prophet (peace be upon him) does never say that, what is not from Allah Almighty. He does never deliver self-fabricated order. Therefore, how it is possible that without obedience of the Messenger (peace be upon him), the willingness and pleasure of Allah Almighty can be acquired.

Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) described that Allah Almighty is my Lord as well as yours’ too. My relation with Him is not as a son and father. I am His servant and He is my God (Worshipped). Therefore, as I act for His devotion, you should also worship Him. Allah Almighty be praised upon His favors. Obeying His (God’s) Commands and following me, (peace be upon him) is the Straight Path.

This verse is also in continuity of previous verses. Miraculous birth of Prophet Jesus Messiah (peace be upon him), his teachings and miracles are being described continuously. Aim of these entire discussions is to produce the perception of God fearing, obedience of the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allah Almighty be upon him) and worship of One True God into the human beings. The mankind should learn to bow only before Allah Almighty, remaining apart from the adoration of other human beings. This is the Straight Path.

Commentary

It was described to Mary (peace be upon her) that Allah Almighty will bestow following excellence to Jesus (peace be upon him):

1.   He (God Almighty) will teach him (peace be upon him) the Scripture and Wisdom particularly the knowledge of the Torah and the Gospel.

2.   He (peace be upon him) will cause to understand the people deepest sayings of the wisdom.

3.   God Almighty will make him a Messenger (peace be upon him) for the Guidance of the Children of Israel.

4.   Allah Almighty will bestow to him (peace be upon him) some super natural events. He will fashion out of clay the likeness of a bird, breathe into it and that will be a bird, by Allah’s leave.

5.   He (peace be upon him) will say to the people, “I heal him who was born blind, and the leper by the leave of God Almighty”.

6.   He (peace be upon him) will also inform the people, “I raise the dead, by Allah’s leave”.

7.   Then he will describe them, “I announce unto you what ye eat and what ye store up in your houses”.

Physicians and philosophers were very powerful during the times of Prophet Jesus Christ (peace be upon him). Therefore, he (peace be upon him) was given such miracles which might open upon the people that he (peace be upon him) has superiority over the entire people.

Commentary

When God Almighty caused to hear Mary (peace be upon her) the glad tidings about the birth of Jesus (peace be upon him) care of an Angel (peace be upon him), she astonished and thought, “Wonderful; how it can be? No man has touched me so far. How the birth of a child would be possible?” Allah Almighty commanded, “There is no surprising thing in it. Allah creates what He will. He is not indigent of apparent causes. When He determines to do something, He says unto it only; Be! And it is”.

This verse manifests the extent of the Divine Power of Allah Almighty. He is The Cause of causes, creates the cause for each work Himself. He created the earth, the heavens and the entire things of the universe. He created one above the one thing. How can He be necessitous of causes and sources?

God Almighty has framed laws to run the system of universe as; the water quenches the thirst, the hand burns whenever someone puts it into the fire, the human being is lost when his heart beat stops, children will be born with the copulation of male and female. These entire things appear in accord with ordinary manner. As per idiomatic meaning, these are called ‘Laws of Producing’. That is to say; if any cause happens, then any result of it comes out.

In this regard, observation of the mankind has become so matured that he discovers cause of each result and produces cause to accomplish each result. He becomes thunderstruck upon any happening, if he does not find its natural or external cause.

In this verse, Allah Almighty has fixed that this observation of the human being is false. It has been searched out that existence of the causes has been set up only for the satisfaction of the mankind. Every thing is possible before the extent of the Divine Power. Only making a signal by Allah Almighty is sufficient for completion of any work. Therefore, He commanded, “when I devise any thing, I make a signal of ‘KUN’ (Be) only unto it. So, that work is completed (And it is). I am not needy of apparent causes”.
