Who will reap advantage from Qur’aan

Surah ‘Al-‘An-‘aam (Cattle) – Chapter – 6)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

51.  Warn hereby those who fear (because they know) that they will be gathered unto their Lord, for whom there is no protecting ally, nor intercessor beside Him, that may ward off (evil).
51.  Wa  ‘anzir  bihil-laziina  yakhaa-fuuna  ‘any-yuh-sharuuu  ‘ilaa  Rabbihim  laysa  lahummin-  duuniHii  waliy-yunw-wa  laa  shafii-‘ul-la-‘al-lahum  yattaquun.

Commentary

It was delineated in the previous verses that, which doubt these people have in your Messenger-hood, is not for the reason that they are in search of the Truth, but they feel their work as spoiled, if they believed in the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him). They demand miracles for believing and hurt the Messenger of Allah Almighty with their likewise behavior.

There is no hope of their coming towards the Straight Path. If they had any intention to understand the Truth, certainly they would have known by taking a little thought that the Messenger and Prophet (peace be upon Him) is a Mankind. He does never claim that He possesses the treasures of Allah Almighty, nor that He has knowledge of the Unseen; and nor that He (peace be upon Him) is an Angel. He is also a Man from the Mankind, Who has extremely superior beauties and Who is guided by means of Divine inspiration and He (peace be upon Him) acts according to the Revelations, and invites the people to act upon Them.

Allah Almighty addresses His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him): Let them do now as they wish, while they do not understand after causing to know them entire these things. And cause to hear and understand the Holy Qur’aan to those people who are ready to reap advantage from It.

Allah Almighty commands that those people who fear that they will be gathered and set before their Lord Almighty on a Day (the Day of Resurrection), there will be no protecting ally, nor any intercessor for them at that time, each one will be for oneself, everyone will be dealt personally by one’s Lord about one’s deeds. None will be one’s supporter or helper beside Him.

These people can reap advantage from the Guidance of Holy Qur’aan. This Word of Allah Almighty will cause to know them: It is compulsory for success in the Court of our Lord that we should obey strictly His Commands today in the world, pass our lives in His prescribed limits, do every that work, which pleases Him and give up all such deeds, which are forbidden by Him. It is called piety and fear of God Almighty. Those people who ward of evil can become Sobers and Temperate.

It was commanded in the second verse of Chapter -2 (Baqarah): Zaalikal-Kitaabu  laa  rayba  fiih.  Hudal-lil-Muttaqiin {This is the Scripture whereof there is no doubt, a Guidance unto Those Who ward off (evil)}. It has further been explained in this verse about it that, only that person has ability to be a pious, who fears Allah Almighty and wards of evils. Think before you commit – Whether is it right or wrong? For such people, this Word of Allah Almighty is a Spiritual Guide and a Conductor.

Truth about Messenger-hood - Quran Chapter 6 – 50 (Pt-7, Stg-2) (L-814) - درس قرآن

Truth about Messenger-hood

Surah ‘Al-‘An-‘aam (Cattle) – Chapter – 6)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

50.  Say (O Muhammad, to the disbelievers): I say not unto you (that) I possess the treasures of Allah, nor that I have knowledge of the Unseen; and I say not unto you: Lo! I am an Angel. I follow only that which is inspired in Me. Say: Are the blind man and the seer equal? Do ye not then take thought?
50.  Qul-laaa  ‘aquulu  lakum  ‘indii  khazaaa-‘iNUllaahi  wa  laaa  ‘a’-lamul-gayba  wa  laaa  ‘aquulu  lakum  ‘innii  malak.  ‘In  ‘attabi-‘u  ‘illaa  maa  yuuhaaa  ‘ilayy.  Qul  hal  yasta-wil-‘a’-maa  wal-basiir.  ‘Afalaa  tatafak-karuun.

Commentary

It has been being described with effect from the previous verses that those people who do not want to obey the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him), they make evasions. Sometimes they say: If you are a Messenger; show us done as we say. At another time they ask: When the Doomsday will come? Again at any other time they argue:  In what manner is He a Messenger, who moves in Bazaars and do works like common people?

Opposite to all of them, the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) has been advised to be patient and commanded: The ancient people also used to treat those Messengers (peace be upon Them), who were sent before You in the same manner. Actually, main reason of these people is the same, which was of those before them that they desire to maintain their own way of life and do not wish any changing in that particular way (which leads them to stray).

They do not want to understand the Truth. Moreover, base of their entire deeds is stubbornness, obstinacy and refractoriness. Even then, actual work of the Messengers (peace be upon Them) has been mentioned in this verse in clear words, so that the wise people may understand the reality.

It is commanded: Say (O Muhammad, to the disbelievers):

1.    Neither had I claimed ever and nor now claim that I possess the treasures of Allah Almighty; I shall provide you, what you will demand.

2.    Nor I have knowledge of the Unseen;

3.    And never had I said to you that I am an Angel and am free from the worldly necessities. I am also a Mankind like you.

There is a difference to such extent among you and Me (Muhammad – grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) that the Divine Revelations come unto Me, in which I am guided about that, what I would have to do. So, I follow only that which is inspired in Me. However, it does not mean that I have not remained a Mankind.

But the thing is only that there is a difference between human beings. (Which you can observe that someone is more wise, while the other is less, someone can see the matter deeply, whereas the other person cannot observe the thing near to him). Someone is blind while the other can see clearly. This is the only difference between you and Me (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) that I have been caused to understand those things which are not known to common people. Meditate in it deeply; it is not any such thing which is difficult to understand.  You can know it easily if you use your sense in this matter properly.

Good news and threat

Surah ‘Al-‘An-‘aam (Cattle) – Chapter – 6)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

48.  And We send not the Messengers save as bearers of good news and warners. Then whoso believeth and doeth right, there shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve.

49.  And as those who denied Our Revelations, torment will afflict them for that they used to disobey.

49.  Wal-laziina  kazzabuu  bi-‘AayaatiNaa  yamassu-humul-‘azaabu  bimaa  kaanuu  yaf-suquun.

Commentary

Behavior of the infidels of Makkah was described in the previous section that they used to demand any such portent from the Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him), observing which, there might not remain any doubt that really He is Messenger. Allah Almighty addresses: O Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him)! Do not grieve from their objections. They have insulted Our Revelations by falsifying Our Messenger. They will suffer due to these kinds of deeds. We certainly sent Our Messengers (peace be upon them) unto those peoples that were before You and they used to tease Them (peace be upon Them) by telling a lie in such manner. Like them, these people also boast upon their wealth and property. But nothing will be useful for them out of these things and they will be annihilated like them too.

Allah Almighty says in these verses that there is no other reason to send the Messengers (peace be upon Them) than that as bearers of good news and warners for the entire people. Then those people, who believe and do good works, good news are for them. There shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve. But those who deny the verses of Holy Qur’aan, falsify Our Revelations and demand particular portents for evading, they should be warned as: The torment will afflict you for your disobedience.

It is known clearly from this verse that the Messengers (peace be upon Them) are sent by Allah Almighty to convey His Message. That Message is: You should do only those works, which are permitted by Allah Almighty, and do not do those works, which are forbidden by Him. This is the Way to get rid of fear and grief. The name of that person will be registered in “the Disobedient”, who did not care this Law of Life and will suffer from rigorous punishment of disobedience.

Commentary

It is the nature of human being that he should bow unto Allah Almighty, proof of which is that whenever any harsh affliction comes, willing or unwilling, the mankind calls only Allah Almighty for help and forgets entire other things. That is the natural thing, upon which, humankind act during the time of tribulation and adversity, on the condition that, he has not become Satan. Another proof regarding Allah Almighty has been given in this verse that Only He (God) is the One Worshipped.

It is commanded: Suppose! If Allah Almighty snatched from you your useful things then Who is He, who could restore them to you? Your most useful things are three i.e. ears, eyes and hearts. If Allah Almighty blind your eyes, make your ears deaf and disorder or stop your hearts from working (the human being becomes blind, deaf and senseless or dead), then Is there anyone else, who may provide these things? Accordingly, none could treat any natural deaf, blind, senseless and dumb till today.

Allah Almighty causes to understand this Truth in Holy Qur’aan again and again, and chooses any new way to admonish every time. But the people never draw their attention and turn away. Ask them also: How would wrongdoers be saved from destruction, if the punishment of Allah Almighty come? His torment can come upon them unawares (suddenly) also as well as after sending Revelations, warning and postponement too. The transgressors will be ruined and destroyed themselves in both conditions. They will damage nothing of Allah Almighty.

Commentary

It was described in the previous verses that the afflictions are sent down upon the people for the reason that they do not obey the commandments of Allah Almighty. It is the purpose to descend the tribulation and adversity that the people should incline towards Allah Almighty, believe in Him and obey His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) and His Last Scripture (Holy Qur’aan), because if they will not do so then evil days will fall upon them.

It is reasonable that they should think deeply about circumstances and consequences of ancient people, that if we shall disobey, the result for us will also be the same as they suffered. The Messengers of Allah Almighty (peace be upon Them) came unto them, as well as Holy Scriptures were revealed for them, even then, when they did not obey, then afflictions, tribulations and adversities were sent down upon them. The result of ancient peoples’ stubbornness and obstinacy has been discussed in the verses of today’s lesson, so that the people of present time would have to startle from negligence and carelessness by hearing the circumstances of those people, who were ruined.

It is commanded that when they did not learn the lesson from disasters too, then We (Allah Almighty) loosened them and opened unto them the gates of all things like wealth and property, honor and emperor etc. till, even as they were enjoying their life with open hearts and were rejoicing in that which they were given.

When they were bestowed with eases and comforts in every field, then they became fearless totally and began to consider their depravity and error as a correct path. When they were happy completely, then Allah Almighty seized them suddenly and unawares and they could do nothing. The despair surrounded them from all around. At last they were ruined. Their stubbornness, obstinacy, bragging and giving themselves airs, everything was in vain. In short, shame for wrongdoers.

Allah Almighty gave them much time to understand the matter that they should know the Creator and Lord of the entire world, and accept their humility before Him. But they remained in their own haughtiness and did not listen to anyone. At last they were defeated very badly and the punishment of Allah’s torment came upon them in the world and they were destroyed. The punishment, which will be given to them on the Day of Resurrection, is a separate matter.

Commentary

It was described in the previous lesson that the human being is confounded at that time, when any affliction comes and none can help him, whereas, he would have taken warning from small accidents and turned towards Allah Almighty immediately.

In this lesson, the attention has been drawn towards the people of old times and commanded that the people of present time should take a lesson by considering thoughtfully their circumstances: It is the fixed rule to admonish the humankind that at first, Allah Almighty sends His Prophets and Messengers (peace be upon Them) among the people.

When the people neither incline towards the Prophet or Messenger (peace be upon Him) and nor listen to the Revelations, revealed upon Him (peace be upon Him), then tribulations and adversities are sent down for them, so that they should lean before Allah Almighty hopelessly and grow humble, knowing His Power.

Even hereupon, the stupidity, obstinacy and perverseness of the human beings harden their hearts and Satan produces evil things of the world making them beautiful before the people.

It is commanded: O Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him)! We certainly sent Our Messengers (peace be upon Them) unto peoples that were before Thee. When the people did not obey Them fairly, then some tribulation and adversity were revealed upon them in order that they might grow humble. But on the contrary, their hearts were hardened and the Devil produced before them their evil deeds as good works, and they were entangled into them being careless entirely from Allah Almighty.

It is known clearly from these verses that whenever people are entangled in evil deeds and bad habits, and disobey the Messengers’ advice, then famine, plague, storms and quakes etc. are sent down, for the purpose that they should bow before Allah Almighty and beg pardon of Allah Almighty.

Commentary

Summary of the previous lesson was that the human being forgets his Creator (Allah Almighty) due to worldly desires, greed and selfishness, and these entire calamities besiege him as a darkness. In these darkness, neither anything discriminates himself, nor he hears other people’s admonition and nor he asks from anyone else.

Forgetting own Creator is utmost negligence. It is true that the desires and selfishness make a mankind deaf, dumb and blind. It has been commanded in this verse that whenever any affliction falls suddenly upon the human being, then he loses his sense and forgets those desires, to which he had made his gods and worshipped. At that time, he sees nothing except Allah Almighty. Then he calls his Creator rash, and if He will, removes his affliction.

It is the form of despair that whenever humankind either does not find any helper or supporter, or all his supporters and relatives deny helping him, then he turns toward Allah Almighty and begs verbally and heartily. In this situation, entire human beings begin to call their Creator and Lord Almighty aloud in their own languages.

Allah Almighty addresses His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him): Say (to the disbelievers)! If the punishment of Allah’s torment were to come upon you today (Let us flee to Allah) or the Hour of the Resurrection come upon you, which is the biggest affliction, then Answer them! if you are truthful, Would you call (for help) to your these false gods other than Allah?

Nay, but at that time, your eyes will be opened and you will begin to call only that Actual God Almighty, Who is only One Worshipped and Whom you had forgotten. While it is usual also in the worldly small afflictions, then what can be said about the severest punishment of Allah’s torment of the Day of Judgment? Therefore, that person is wise, who knows Allah Almighty before time and accepts it that there is neither any supporter and nor remover of the affliction, whether that affliction is big or small except Allah Almighty. At last, the deliverance from all afflictions, pain and grief will be for such people.
