‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

187.  They ask thee of the (destined) Hour, when will it come to pass? Say: Knowledge thereof is with my Lord only. He Alone will manifest it at its proper time. It is heavy in the heavens and the earth. It cometh not to you save unawares. They question thee as if thou couldst be well informed thereof. Say: Knowledge thereof is with Allah only, but most of mankind know not.

Commentary

‘As-Saa-‘atu – (a very little part of the time, which is called “a Moment”). Here; it aims “the Time of general Resurrection”, when accounts of every human being will be taken.

Mur-saa – (destined, settlement, to be set up, taking place), this word has been derived from ‘arsaaa’, which means “to settle, to fix on”. And this word has been taken from raswun, which means “to stop, to stay, to remain and to last”. Mursaa and ‘arsaaa’ have the same meanings. Here; it aims “coming of the destined Hour to pass, the Time and the Day of Resurrection”.

Ha-fiyyun – (to be well informed, going to Endeavor), origin of this word is hafyun, which means “to turn the attention (to)”. Here it aims “one is going to seek about”.

The people were desirous to know about the destined Hour (the Time of Resurrection) that; when will it come to pass? It has been described about it already in the earlier Scriptures. Holy Qur’an caused to draw more attention upon it. The last Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) caused to hear by reciting the Holy Qur’an to the people. The people considered that He (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) has reflected thoughtfully in this matter. Therefore, they asked from Him (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him): Tell us! When the destined Hour will come to pass? They have been replied in this verse.

It is commanded that; coming of the Destined Hour (General Resurrection) to pass has been kept hidden.  Nobody knows about it save Allah Almighty. It is sufficient to say for correction of the people that it is sure that the Time and the Day of Resurrection shall come to pass. Moreover, there is a policy in keeping the destined Hour secret, which is; the people should remain frightened from It every time. When that Hour will come; Allah Almighty will show It to the entire people openly. It will be the heaviest accident among the heavens and the earth. No creature is able to bear Its knowledge. If the Time of Its happening is known by any creature, it will become difficult for them to perform their works. Whenever that Time will come, it will come suddenly and in the condition of unawares. The Messengers (peace be upon Them) do not try to know such matters, which are not described to Them by Allah Almighty Himself. Complete knowledge about it is with God Almighty only. Maximum people do not know that: What is the advisability in keeping that Hour secret?

Guidance is in the Hand of Allah

Chapter ‘Al-‘A’raaf (The Heights) – Surah – 7)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

مَن يُضْلِلِ ٱللَّهُ فَلَا هَادِىَ لَهُۥ وَيَذَرُهُمْ فِى طُغْيَٰنِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ 186

186.  Those whom Allah sendeth astray, there is no guide for them. And He leaveth them to wander blindly on in their contumacy.
186.  Many-yuzli-Lillaahu  falaa  haa-diya  lah.  Wa  yazaruhum  fii  tug-yaanihim  ya’-mahuun.

Commentary

It was stated previously that there are many things in the world for them who think, from which they can get correct results by means of correct meditation. They can know that one should engage his attention unto the charming things of the world only as much that his heart should not be averse from useful things. Moreover, actual attention should remain unto them, because comfort and ease, tastes and relishes of the world are temporary only. Wealth and property, honor and dignity etc. are the things of coming and going – some- time those are with me and sometimes with you. The mind should be engaged in those things which will stay with the mankind all the time and should be base of everlasting joy. What are these things? These things cannot be attained by the human being from anywhere else. These can be learned only from the Messengers (peace be upon Them). Their provisions are held in the Scriptures of God Almighty. If really, the humankind is in search of perpetual peace, endless ease, satisfaction and pleasure, he should bear the Sayings (Commands) of God’s last Messenger; Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) in his mind. He should begin reciting the Holy Qur’an with full commitment and determination, and obey Its all Commands unhesitatingly. Alas! There are innumerable people who call everyone towards the world but only some individuals are who invite unto the Holy Qur’an. Producers of worldly things have goods; ready to give with immediate profit, whereas, those who call to arrange the Hereafter, have mere promises, only warnings and hope of future advantage. The law of the people of the world is “A bird in hand is worth two in the bush”, whereas; behavior of the believers is “worshiping God continuously with patience and being hopeful of Allah’s Bounty. They sacrifice existing benefits in search of His Willingness; and give everything in His Way, whichever they possess. Can anybody think that someone will incline unto Allah Almighty in such difficulty? Really; it is very difficult.

It has been commanded in this verse that changing the heart from worldly casual benefits and inclining towards the benefits of the Hereafter is not in the power of any human being. It can be done by Allah Almighty only. If He lets someone entangled in the world and does not guide unto the Straight Path, then there is no such individual who has power to guide him.

From this verse, an Established and Prescribed Order of God Almighty is known about this matter that “Many Signs and Tokens have been produced before every individual in the world besides the Messengers (peace be upon Them) and the Scripture of God Almighty. None has been forced. If any individual wants to remain entangled in the worldly deceptions and is unable to see above it, Allah Almighty will leave him as he wishes, and he will be wandering blindly in his contumacy, and at last; he will die. His wealth, power, dignity, force, pomp and show even that; nothing will be helpful to save him.

Here; it is easy to say that the Hereafter is nothing. Reward and punishment, the Heaven and the Hell – all are self-made talks, but if these are proved true, then which is the abode of those people who deny and ignore? Allah Almighty save us on the Day of Resurrection from this affliction and repentance; and guide us in the world.

Qur’an is the Last Message - Quran Chapter 7 – 185b (Pt-9, Stg-2) (L-1063) - درس قرآن

185b.  Fabi-‘ayyi  Hadii-sim-  ba’-dahuu  yu’-minuun.

Commentary

It was described earlier that; becoming a mankind of the mankind depends on it that he should know his Lord and pass his life according to His Commands, and it was explained also that which thing prevents from knowing Lord, that is greed of worldly things. Desires of the human being sulk like children that those should be fulfilled. Whereas, his Lord commands: Be cautious! You should not be entangled in the net of wishes. We have imposed some restrictions on their fulfilling in the world and determined some limitations. You can fulfill your desires remaining in those limitations, how much you can. You should not cross the line.

It is too much difficult that the human being tries every time to run away. He looks his death in restrictions and considers that “The life is the name of: Eating, drinking bellyful and enjoying only”. He produces sources for it and gathers wealth. If he cannot do so then snatches and robs from others. Who has the time in these disputes that he would have to be busy in search of Lord? Then, Messengers (peace be upon Them) are sent for explaining about these matters. They bring the Scriptures of God Almighty along with Them, recite before the people and cause to understand them. They act upon the Revelations and teach the people by means of their own acts. If They are obeyed and followed, it becomes easy to know God Almighty and obey His Commands. The Messenger (peace be upon Him) gets them released from the circle of wishes and teaches them the ways of fulfilling like human beings. He (peace be upon Him) says: It is not suitable for him to continue eating, drinking and fulfilling sensual deeds every time like animals; according to the dignity of the mankind. Allah Almighty has determined the ways of his improvement. It is his duty to follow His instructions.

The Messengers (peace be upon Them) came in this world to give the Word of God Almighty to the human beings. Even that the lineage of Messengers (peace be upon Them) came to an end at the last Messenger; Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) and He delivered the last Scripture of Allah Almighty i.e. Holy Qur’an to the human beings for their guidance. In this Word, summary of all those matters exist which were conveyed by previous all Messengers (peace be upon Them) during their periods to the people of those times.

Neither any Messenger will come after Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) and nor any Scripture will be revealed after Holy Qur’an. Therefore, if the mankind wants to become really a mankind, it is incumbent to obey the Revelations of This holy Word. And if he wants to follow his unbridled sensual wishes; like animals and is desirous to pass his life in the sources of their fulfilling, then he has choice. We don’t bind him.

The Scripture of God Almighty desires to ask from him (mankind) the same that if he does not believe in this Revelation; then what is other thing to which will he accept? If he believes then he should understand that the punishments which have this Scripture explained for those who have been entangled in the world, if he is punished according to them, then he cannot accuse any other save cursing himself. Then he will have to suffer that what will fall to his lot.

The biggest weakness of the human being is his sensual wishes. And he wants to fulfill them immediately. Allah Almighty does not prevent from fulfilling those wishes. However, He teaches the way of their fulfilling in which he can reap advantage at full scale but that is not harmful. Moreover, some labor is must for it as - bearing the expenses of wife after wedding, with which such pleasure of own home and children is obtained, which does not exist in evil-living.

Matter which needs special attention - Quran Chapter 7 – 184 & 185a (Pt-9, Stg-2) (L-1062) - درس قرآن

Quran Chapter 7 – 184 & 185a (Pt-9, Stg-2) (L-1062) - درس قرآن

Matter which needs special attention

Chapter ‘Al-‘A’raaf (The Heights) – Surah – 7)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

Moreover, it is commanded that they should consider thoughtfully about some more matters during spare time. Forgetting the useful matters being entangled in pleasure is not a matter of intelligence. There are uncountable work-shops in the world. Everything of every work-shop is being put in order according to its need. Nature of every creature has been arranged separately i.e. separate ways of their working, difference in living from one another although some things of them match with one another. The universe has been divided in different parts, whereas management of every part has been arranged under a prescribed law and some fixed principles. Common creatures have been divided in separate conditions. The scenes of the heavens are uncountable. If we see above, countless stars and planets are visible there hanging over. They move swiftly but do not dash together with one another. That is thunderstruck if we read which the humankind has discovered about them. Wonders of the earth are also astonishing. As much the knowledge has been increasing, so much the faith in the management of the world under prescribed law and thoughtfully made principles, has been establishing. The mankind has been prepared to reap advantage from them only for the purpose that he may accomplish his desires in accord with his will.

It is the result that mutual contention has been increasing. Every individual wishes: the treasures of new sciences should come only under my control, so that only I may reap advantage from them and other people remain desirous and anxious. To gain this object, many new groups have been established. New nations have been created and the mutual deadly enmity has been produced so much that it has become very difficult to breathe with satisfaction.

A complete natural way of reflection has been produced in the verse that one should draw as a conclusion by knowing the uniformity and law of the universe and under them; its prescribed law that there exists someone Who makes these rules and keeps established the management of the world according to them; that is One – Allah, God and our Lord, Whose Knowledge has surrounded the entire. Therefore, that law which has been prescribed for the humankind, He has disclosed upon the mankind by means of His Messenger. It is incumbent upon the human being that he should obey it. If the mankind does not understand the same, he has been suffering from severe misunderstanding. He will suffer the consequences of this.

Then it is commanded that one should not be so much careless that he forgets totally such matter; happening of which is certain. He may be doubtful in other matters but there is no room for this doubt that every living being have to die at last. Even then; he loves the world so much that never thinks about own death that, “one day I shall go back with empty hand silently leaving all provisions, goods, wealth, property, office and sovereignty etc. one should not remain in deception of the world and should keep in view own sure departure from the world maximum times.

Every individual has an end. Every nation has its end, then, what did happen with you that you do not think about it that may be; our time has reached close to us? If we think so, there is no reason for us to get ready for the Hereafter by accepting the Revelations of Holy Qur’an.

Commentary

Malakuuti – this word has been derived from malak, which means “common sovereignty over entire things”. Malakuuti means “management of every kind of creature according to its own nature and rule upon them”.

Those people were threatened in the previous verse; who denied the Revelations of Allah Almighty, that they should not be deceived from their prosperity and success of the world. Allah Almighty does not hasten in punishing. They should understand and think that has the Holy Qur’an no importance which ultimately; Allah Almighty has managed with merit to send in the world? Nay! But it has very deep purpose i.e. that individual or nation which is provided opportunity to acquire wealth and property, rank and grandeur in the world; notwithstanding; they put the Commands of God Almighty behind their back, their eyes should be opened by means of Holy Qur’an that they should not behave with boastfulness and should not consider, “I have received everything, now; there is no need to hear the Revelations of Qur’an”.

They have been invited in this verse that they should meditate upon their condition. They should think: Why does the Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) show too much activity in delivering the Message of God Almighty whereas they suffer painful difficulties, hard labor and cruelty? (Let us flee to God) Their minds have no unsoundness.

It is commanded that eventually; they should think the Prophet and Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him), who has been living with them since His birth; they know His habits very well. They accept that He (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) is honest, intelligent, wise and pure in all matters. They praise to His manners and give evidence that He is indifferent and well-wisher of the public. There is no madness in Him and nor is He unwise or stupid, but He proves that He is more wise, foresighted and circumspect than all of them. Then, what is the reason of not listening to His Word, while neither He desires to rule upon them, nor wishes to make them Own obedient or make His own government. He does not say to anyone: Give Me everything which you have and live as My slaves and servants.
