A very great prediction - Quran Chapter 6 – 89 (Pt-7, Stg-2) (L-844) -

Quran Chapter 6 – 89 (Pt-7, Stg-2) (L-844) -

A very great prediction

Surah ‘Al-‘An-‘aam (Cattle) – Chapter – 6)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

89.  Those are they unto whom We gave the Scripture and Command and Prophet-hood. But if they disbelieve therein, then indeed We shall entrust it to a people who will not be disbelievers therein.
89.  ‘Ulaaa-‘ikallaziina  ‘Aatay-Naa  humul  Kitaaba  wal-Hukma  wan-Nubuwwah.  Fa-‘inyyakfur  bihaa  haaa-‘ulaaa-‘i  faqad  wakkalNaa  bihaa  qawmal-laysuu  bihaa  bi-kaafiriin.

Commentary

Kitaabun – (Book), every written thing is called a book, whether that is small or large. Therefore, its meaning can be a magazine, a letter, a thesis and a scripture etc. anything like them. Here it aims the Scripture which Allah Almighty revealed unto His Messengers (peace be upon Them).

Hukma – (Command), this word has three meanings:

1.    Making decision

2.    A decision

3.    Such thing, on the basis of which, the decision is finalized; that is to say; the law. The second name of it is “Divine Law of the Religion”.

Nubuwwah – (Prophet-hood), that utmost attribute, which is bestowed by Allah Almighty due to the purity of the heart. It is an inner thing which has direct connection with the Light of Allah Almighty. It is the last promotional degree of human excellence, and whosoever acquired It, Allah Almighty designated Him as His Messenger by bestowing His Scripture and Command upon Him (peace be upon Him). Every Messenger is a Prophet but it is not necessary that every Prophet might be a Messenger.

Everyone can be a Saint (Walii), the Prophets are special people and every Prophet is not a Messenger. The Last Messenger, our illustrious Master, Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) is a Saint, a Messenger, a Prophet (all in one). Apostleship and Prophet-hood ends on Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him).

wakkalNaa – (We entrusted), it is in past tense and its source is tawkiil and derived from wakaalatun.  Wakaalatun means “to take the responsibility of someone’s work”, the word Wakiil is derived from it, which means an agent, an ambassador, a counselor, an attorney etc. Tawkiil means to put own responsibility, under supervision of someone else. The word Mu-‘akkal has also been derived from the same origin, which means “anyone, who makes someone else responsible for his own work”.

The names of many Prophets (peace be upon Them) were mentioned in the previous verses, and it was described that those people were standard-bearers of the Guidance of Allah Almighty. In this verse, their three virtues have been discussed which are last point of human excellence, as, Revelation of the Scripture of Allah Almighty, Guidance and Divine Law of Religion, bestowed by God  and Bounty of Prophet-hood.

It is commanded: O Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him): We gave some of Them (peace be upon Them) our Scripture and bestowed new Divine Law of Religion and appointed all of Them as Prophets (peace be upon Them). You (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) have come also towards the people with a Scripture and Guidance like Them. If these (people of Makkah) don’t believe in Your sayings, then you should not be afraid, We have already determined other people. They will accept Your Scripture and Command wholeheartedly and believe that You are a true Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him).

This verse was revealed in Makkah before departure; it has a very great prediction, which came true exactly as told by the Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) after His arrival at Madinah.

Guidance of Allah Almighty - Quran Chapter 6 – 88 (Pt-7, Stg-2) (L-843) -

Quran Chapter 6 – 88 (Pt-7, Stg-2) (L-843) -

Guidance of Allah Almighty

Surah ‘Al-‘An-‘aam (Cattle) – Chapter – 6)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

28.  Such is the Guidance of Allah wherewith He guideth whom He will of His bondmen. But if they had set up (for worship) aught beside Him, (all) that they did would have been vain.
28.  Zaalika  HudAllaahi  yahDii  bihii  many-yashaaa-‘u  min  ‘ibaadiH.

Commentary

Hudan – Guidance), this word has come in the beginning of Surah ‘Al-Baqarah (2:2) and it means “to show the correct path, to guide, to carry on the straightway. The word yahDii has also been derived from it, which is its resembling tense.

Habita – to be wasted, it is past tense, which has come out from the word Habt. Habt means “to be ruined, to be destroyed”.

It has been described in the verses before this, that Prophet Abraham (peace be upon Him) delivered the lesson to His nation regarding Oneness of God Almighty. It was the same lesson, which was taught by The Prophets and Messengers earlier to Him (peace be upon Them) during their own times to their own folks.

Many Prophets were born in the Children of Abraham (peace be upon Them) for teaching this lesson. These all were chosen, respectable and accepted People, Who were favored by Allah Almighty than entire other people in the world. It has been commanded in this verse: If anyone desires to see the pattern of guidance bestowed by Allah, should see These People (peace be upon Them). He will know clearly that Allah Almighty guides towards the right path out of His bondmen, whom He wills.

Listen to Me carefully now: It is the Straight Path which is incumbent to be believed in the life of this world! God Almighty is One and He is original Omnipotent. It is called Unity, Oneness of God. Opposite to it, the person, who does not have faith in the Unity, is an idolater; whether his apparent care is much glittering and graceful. And no good act of any idolater will be acceptable on the Day of Resurrection.

If those Bondmen of Allah Almighty (Prophets – peace be upon Them), who have been described above, had ascribed partners to Allah (God forbid), then whether they would have done very much good works, were not useful for Them (peace be upon Them) and they would have been from the “good for nothing” people. This decision of Holy Qur’aan will be the Speaker in the Hereafter that no individual or nation can reach the prosperity which does not believe in Allah Almighty or have faith that some other things are able to cause to gain their end. Success is only for those people, who believe that only Allah Almighty is their Worshipped and Protector.

Those people, who bow before others except Allah Almighty, whether those are idols or great people, stars or moon etc. or their lustful wishes, certainly after a few days in the world or after death, they will understand that they are quite stupid and empty-handed. And perception of their failure and grief will not give them up of anywhere.

Those people who have forgotten Allah Almighty and consider: By chance our business will be managed automatically, they are stupid entirely. At the end, they would have business with Allah Almighty only. And if they did not open their eyes in this world, then surely those will be opened at that time, when “the death bells” will call them, and entire worldly things will be useless for them. With effect from that time, there will be no friend of them except sorrow, regret and repentance till the eternity of the eternities.

Commentary

Allah Almighty bestowed the sense and wisdom to Prophet Abraham (peace be upon Him) to derive correctly from the worldly things and events by logical process. Due to this extraordinary ability, Allah  Almighty made Him prominent in the group of Prophets/Messengers and chose other residuary Prophets from His generation (peace be upon Them). Some names of Prophets (peace be upon Them) have been mentioned in this verse whose forefather was Prophet Noah (peace be upon Him).

Who is satisfied? - Quran Chapter 6 – 82 (Pt-7, Stg-2) (L-841) -

Quran Chapter 6 – 82 (Pt-7, Stg-2) (L-841) -

Who is satisfied?

Surah ‘Al-‘An-‘aam (Cattle) – Chapter – 6)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

82.  Those who believe and obscure not their belief by wrongdoing, theirs is safety, and they are rightly guided.
82.  ‘Alla-ziina  ‘aamanuu  wa  lam  yal-bisuuu  ‘iimaanahum-  bi-zulmin  ‘ulaaa-‘ika  lahumul-‘amnu  wa  hum-Muh-taduun.

Commentary

Lam  yal-bisuuu – (do not obscure, do not intermix, do not amalgamate). Bi-zulmin – (by wrongdoing), here it aims “the act; due to which, disorder occurs in the belief” as “belief in a plurality of God, disobedience of Allah Almighty, to ask someone for protection instead of God, steadfastness upon wicked deeds etc.”

Muh-taduun – (the rightly guided), it is the passive participle which has been derived from ‘ahtadaaa’. The origin of ‘ahtadaaa’ is hidaayah. Hisaayat means “to show the correct way, to guide towards the straight path”. ‘Ahtadaaa’ means “to find the right way”.

The Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) of Allah Almighty was commanded in the previous verse that He should tell them: Why should I fear your gods. These helpless (idols) are lifeless and feeble. I should fear Allah Almighty Who has full power and strength. While you do not fear such Powerful God, then what is need of Mine to fear your helpless gods?

Then it was asked: Tell Me (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) if you have some sense and wisdom; whether are you in danger or am I? It is obvious that your gods can mar never Me and nothing of Mine. So I do not have any fear of them, but Allah Almighty can punish you in this world as well as in the Hereafter, so you are in danger every time. Quote now! Whether thoughtlessness and peace should be to Me or you? The reply of this question has been disclosed very clearly in this verse.

It is commanded that the persons who believed in Allah Almighty and had faith heartily in it that there is none able to be worshipped but He only, and then insisted upon it and believed, and then did not commit any such act due to which any confusion occurs in the belief. For those people there is ease, comfort, rest and peace forever, because the person, whose Protector is Allah Almighty, none can harm him. These are the people who are rightly guided, and the person, who goes the right path, is saved from the distresses of the way and after reaching his destination, is awarded with comfort and peace.

It can be understood clearly from this verse that there are uncountable confusions in the artificial things of the world. The person, who desires to be saved from distresses and reaches any such place, where he may avail all sorts of ease and comfort, then he should obey the Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) and believe in Allah Almighty and then adopt the way of life, about which the Noble Qur’aan guided.

If anyone saved his/her Belief until death, certainly would reach the place of comfort and satisfaction. And he/she will also achieve deliverance from useless confusions in the world.

Idolaters are in danger - Quran Chapter 6 – 81 (Pt-7, Stg-2) (L-840) -

Quran Chapter 6 – 81 (Pt-7, Stg-2) (L-840) -

Idolaters are in danger

Surah ‘Al-‘An-‘aam (Cattle) – Chapter – 6)

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

81.  How should I fear that which ye set up beside Him, when ye fear not to set up beside Allah that for which He hath revealed unto you no warrant? Which of the two factions hath more right to safety? (Answer me that) if ye have knowledge.
81.  Wa  kayfa  ‘akhaafu  maaa  ‘ash-raktum  wa  laa  takhaa-fuuna  ‘anna-kum  ‘ash-raktum-  Billaahi  maa  lam  yunazzil  bihii  ‘alay-kum  sultaanaa. Fa-‘ayyul-farii-qayni  ‘ahaqqu  bil-‘amn. ‘In kuntum  ta’-lamuun.

Commentary

Sultaanaa – (warrant), sultaan means overcoming power and authority. He is brave and powerful, who has strong proof or sway to say something. Therefore, it is translated as warrant or authority. It also means permission, jurisdiction and ruling, because all of them provide bravery and power.

In the previous verse, the situation was discussed in which Abraham (peace be upon Him) replied the idolaters (who used to frighten Him from the punishment of their gods): The fear should be only from that, which has some power. Your gods are lifeless, while they don’t have even life, then what is the mention of power?

Prophet Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) has been commanded in this verse that He should say to the idolaters: How should I fear from your base and helpless gods, who don’t have even a little bit of power, and you know it well that neither can they give you anything, nor snatch. Then how the sense can permit to fear from lifeless and powerless things willing or unwilling?

Now look at yourselves: You do not fear Allah Almighty, whereas He has full Power, Strength and Authority to punish you, and only He is your Owner and Lord, and you are unable to go out from His limits for escaping yourselves. He is your Ruler. You are never permitted by Him to beg from others beside Him (Allah Almighty), and consider useless things equal to Him, and begin to think falsely that He needs helpers, and that He can do Alone nothing.

You try to frighten Me (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) from those lifeless and powerless things, whom you have ascribed partners of Allah Almighty, whereas I cause to fear you from the Omnipotent and most Powerful God. Think now! From whom you say Me to be afraid, are quite powerless, and about Whom I say you to be frightened, is the Most Powerful.

In such condition, who from both of us will get satisfaction of the heart and rest of thought? You claim that you have knowledge and are wise people. If you have knowledge then tell Me (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him): Whether those people will dwell with satisfaction, comfort and peace in the world and Hereafter who, leaving all, worship and believe in only One God – Allah Almighty, Who is Omnipotent, or those who fear from many self-fabricated gods?

(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

80.  His people argued with him. He said: Dispute ye with me concerning Allah when He hath guided me? I fear not at all that which ye set up beside Him unless my Lord willeth aught. My Lord includeth all things in His knowledge. Will ye not then remember?
80.  Wa  haaaj-jahuu  qawmuh. Qaala  ‘a-tuhaaaj-juuunnii  Fillaahi  wa  qad  hadaan. Wa  laaa  ‘akhaafu  maa  tush-rikuuna  biHiii  ‘illaaa  ‘any-yashaaa-‘a  Rabbii  shay-‘aa. Wasi-‘a Rabbii  kulla  shay-‘in  ‘ilmaa. ‘Afalaa  tata-zakkaruun.

Commentary

Haaaj-jaHuu – (argued with Him), its origin is Hujjah, which aims “to argue, to criticize, to adduce argument”. The word Muhaajjah has also been derived from it which means “to spoil the argument of others and emphasize one’s own argument”, result of which is nothing but a dispute. Therefore, aim of this word is “to criticize or to dispute”.

It is a characteristic of the human being that he settles a town along with other humankind mutually who are also alike him, and after a few days, those people of the town establish a style of living. Slowly and gradually, they become habitual in such a manner that they think never to leave it. This system of living mutually with one another is called the customs and the traditions.

Some affairs in the customs and traditions are right and some are wrong. To correct those wrong customs and traditions, Prophets and Messengers (peace be upon Them) were sent by Allah Almighty. They faced hard that the people didn’t want to step back from those customs and traditions. They considered their wrong customs and traditions as correct, and rejected the reforms adhered by the Messengers (peace be upon Them) and the Messengers (peace be upon Them) continued the effort to teach them.

Abraham (peace be upon Him) was Prophet of Allah Almighty.  He (peace be upon Him) observed that having faith in the liar gods has prevailed among the people and its correction is incumbent. It was described in the previous verses that He (peace be upon Him) determined that the idols, the stars, the moon, the sun and all other things are unable to be God.

Abraham (peace be upon Him) said to the people that they should give up worship of idols and ascribed partners of Allah Almighty, and believe in only one God, but they were accustomed to worship many gods. Therefore, they began to criticize Prophet Abraham (peace be upon Him) and said: How is it possible?

The dispute among Abraham (peace be upon Him) and His people has been described in this verse. It is commanded that His nation didn’t obey Him and began to argue. Abraham (peace be upon Him) said: You want Me to believe in the liar gods instead of Allah Almighty like you, How can it be possible?

“Allah Almighty has guided Me towards the right path of His acquaintance by showing His clear signs. So, I (peace be upon Him) find everything helpless before Him, then how can I consider them My God and Creator giving up Allah Almighty? Saying of you people, “If You will not acknowledge our gods then they will punish You angrily”. I don’t believe in them. I am sure that they can do nothing against Me, Neither they can profit Me nor hurt. However, Allah Almighty is Able to do whatsoever He desires, He is My Lord and He is well Aware of everyone’s necessities”.

Commentary

When it was dawn and the sun manifested with great splendor, the doors and the walls were eliminated, the eyes were in the state of being dazzled due to its glitter, then, Abraham (peace be upon Him) said: Perhaps it (the sun) is able to be my Lord, it is the biggest and splendid despite all of them. At the end of the day, that faded, set entirely, slowly and gradually.

At that time Abraham (peace be upon Him) decided: while the stars, the moon and the sun (all of them) are helpless then nothing of them can be my Lord. So I gave up absolutely all of them and O People! Listen to Me (peace be upon Him): while such raised and bright things cannot be God, then, in which number are your these idols? I deny your all these gods and bow My head before My Lord, Allah – The Wise and The Omnipotent. And I exclaim that I am quit of all that you associate with Him.

Let’s think now deeply on these verses. Abraham (peace be upon Him) saw the sun in the day and thought about its dignity and splendor in the awe-stricken condition that it is biggest even from the stars and the moon, sitting alone at height and it has surrounded the entire things with its own light and heat. Certainly it would be My Lord. At the end of the day, when it set also, then He (peace be upon Him) addressed the people and said: It is sufficient to understand. I declare that I am quit of your all self-fabricated gods and I have turned my face from all things towards only That Majestic Creator, Who created the heavens, the earth and all the creatures among them without any pattern as one by nature upright, and I do not ascribe anyone or anything as associate of Him.

Prophet Abraham (peace be upon Him) taught this way to the human beings for making the sense and wisdom useful and named those people “Muslims” who turn their whole attention to this side by knowing likewise Allah Almighty.
