Quran Chapter 1-1 (Pt-1 Stg-1)(L–4)-درس قرآن

The Supreme Being

Surah ‘Al-Faatihah (The Opening) – Surah –1)

BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

1.  Praise be to Allah, Lord of
the worlds
   1.  ‘Al-Hamdu  LIllaahi  Rabbil-
‘Aalamiin.

Lesson

There are some words in this verse. Please understand their meanings first.

‘Al-Hamdu  - according to Arabic language “Al” means “All. It is used for three meanings – all, particular and which. However, here it has been used for “All”. “Hamd” means-Praise, Excellence, Qualities, characteristics etc. which is higher than praise-worthy actions and gratitude.

Allaahu” is personal name of God Almighty. It can neither be used for any other, nor is ever used for anyone else save God Almighty. The word “Allah” has not been derived from any other word. This name is particularly used only for God Almighty.

Rabb” - means that Lord, Master and Creator, Who created entire things of the universe, and then promoted them from one state/condition to the other, even He caused to arrive them on the degrees of perfection.

Aalamiin” – (it aims the entire creatures, all the existing things, all the communities and all the worlds). Singular of ‘Aalamiin is ‘Aalam.

In this verse, some knowledge about God Almighty has been delivered and explained that the entire praise is, in fact, only for Allah Almighty. Whenever any Ruler acts upon justice, it means that Allah Almighty has put the quality of justice into that Ruler. If there is restoration of health and cure by the hands of anyone (doctor), it means, actually this perfection has been bestowed to him by Allah Almighty. If someone is beautiful and handsome, or has nice habits, then for actual ownership of such Praise and attribute is also the Personality of Allah Almighty, Who bestowed this beauty to that person/thing.

It revealed from this verse also that God of Islam is not only God of a particular race, a particular tribe or a particular nation. All the religions which were in existence before Islam, were not aware of this vast concept. Every nation supposed that God is only of their God. As though, the position of God remained only as their national God. Even the Children of Israel, who had faith in oneness of God, used to consider that God is only of theirs. But The Holy Qur-’aan removed all these incorrect fidelity and explained that God of the entire things and atoms of the universe is only One “Allah Almighty.”

We have come to know from this lesson also that we should serve the entire human beings, besides the mankind, we should have sympathy over the animals too. We should not behold anyone with the hatred sight.

Our concept is not limited. But we believe that our Creator is Creator and Master of the entire Worlds and creatures, Who gives living, Who brings up every living being and all other creatures, not only for this world, but Lord of the entire Worlds.
