(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

causest the day to pass into the night. And Thou bringest forth the living from
the dead, and Thou bringest forth the dead from the living, and Thou givest
sustenance to whom Thou choosest, without stint.

Commentary
This
verse is also common with the previous in meanings and comprehension. Allah
Almighty described about His Power and discretion in the previous verse that He
is able to do all things. He gives honor, glory and government to whom He
wills, and lets fall in disgrace and baseness to whom He wishes. He has
repeated in the present verse too the reality that each type of change and
possession in the world depends upon His pleasure. He causes the night to pass
into the day, and the day to pass into the night and He changes the weathers
i.e. winter, spring, summer and autumn.
Sometime
He decreases the night, increases the day and then increases night, and
decreases the day. For example, the day becomes of fourteen hours and the night
of ten hours (in summer), and after some period the day becomes of ten hours
and the night of fourteen hours (in winter). These all changes are in His Power.
The moon, the sun and the stars cannot move a little without His consent and
plan.
Besides
increasing and decreasing of the days and the nights, He brings forth the
living from the dead, and the dead from the living. First example is likewise
to bear the bird from an egg and living child from the seminal fluid of male
and female, and second example is likewise egg from the animal and the seminal
liquid from men and women. He produces a learned person from the illiterate and
a complete person from the unsound.
The children of Israel used to consider that
the nobleness and superiority, which they had, would remain forever. They
should know that Allah Almighty is Able to give honor and sovereignty to whom
He wishes and Can snatch these things from whom He wills. If He desires to grow
any perfect person among the ignorant, He is Able to do so, as He produced the
Last Messenger Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) among
the ignorant of Arab. The treasures of provision are also under His control. He
bestows countless and immoderate (wealth) to whom He wishes. The humankind
cannot count His distinguishing, favors and honors.
