Commentary
Hazara Ya’-quubal-mawtu – (death
came to Jacob), it aims that when the time of death reached and Prophet Jacob
(peace be upon Him) observed its signs.
‘Ishaaqa – (Isaac),
He was second son of Prophet Abraham and younger brother of Prophet Ishmael.
His mother named Saarah was the first
wife of Prophet Abraham (peace be upon Them).
In this verse, the Children of Israel are
being addressed that, “As you say about your self-made and false theories that
these are from our Ancestors and you refuse to embrace Islam, Were you present
at that time when Prophet Jacob (peace be upon Him) asked from His sons before
death about the Worshipped and they replied: We shall worship of that Worshipped
(Lord) whose worship was being done by your grandfather; Prophet Abraham, your
father’s brother Prophet Ishmael and your father Prophet Isaac” (peace be upon
Them).
Today, while the Holy Qur’an is inviting the People of the Scripture
towards the same religion, they are turning away from it and going astray.
That religion, which was adopted by
Prophet Abraham (peace be upon Him) and towards which the Holy Qur’an is inviting today, that is verily the
worship of One God and good-deeds. Which individual or nation will turn away
from these two basic principles, it will go astray, fall away from the religion
of Prophet Abraham (peace be upon Him) and will be forfeited from getting the
Right of Guidance.
