Commentary

It is commanded that Prophet Moses (peace be upon Him) left to live in solitude on mountain Sinai for the term fixed by Allah Almighty after preparation. When He (peace be upon Him) reached there and turned His attention unto Allah Almighty by removing from all sides, and Allah, the Most High spoke to Him and from this conversation, He found a strange pleasure and cheerfulness, a desire of seeing Allah Almighty was born in His heart. He (peace be upon Him) thought: How much rejoice and awesomeness would be in His (God’s) Presence, Whose Word is so much pleasant? Due to excessive fondness; He (peace be upon Him) could not think that a physical eye can see just the colors and patterns of a body. But there is no form of seeing Him (God) with this eye Who is absolutely pure and devoid of body and corporeal.

However, fondness of viewing prevailed so much that unhesitatingly, He (peace be upon Him) requested: O my Lord! Show me Thy Self in any form, that I may see Thou with these bodily eyes of mine. It was commanded: Until the human being is living in this world, he is bound by the constitution of here. This is the inexorable law that physical eye cannot see any unconditional thing.

However, it can be so, that any such scene should be produced before you, with which, helplessness of the matter should manifest upon you that the hardest thing of the world, even any most solid thing cannot bear the Splendor of God Almighty, to Whom you desire to see. The human eye is the weakest thing in the material sense. How will it bear That Light (of Allah Almighty)?

You should gaze upon the mountain, which is in front of you. We are going to put Our a little Brightness on it. If it endured and stood still in its place, then you will also be able to see Us. Otherwise, you should understand that in this world, seeing Allah Almighty is not possible.

The eyes, which have been given to the mankind in this world, with them, he cannot see many things in their original form. For example; the pleasure is a hidden thing, which cannot be seen by these eyes. But one can see its signs. Design of the human face is changed. Smile on the lips, a special kind of movement of the limbs, a new glow in the eyes, frolic and jumping, laughing and a particular kind of laughter, observing these gestures collectively, the sense of one decides that he gains happiness and these are its indications. In the same way, a mankind cannot see Allah Almighty, but by observing His Revelations and Tokens, can know Him easily and set up His conception in own heart.
